Yep, you got it bang on....also, as you stated, this has taken many years of practise and an investment in equipment and time plus a degree of confidence to blend into the environment. I never "patrol" the beach but do go for higher density beaches and normally only cover them once or twice in a day. People will notice if you keep walking up and down even if it does look like your chilling out to your tunes. Be aware of other beach users because some do watch where you are walking and I always miss a few targets on purpose to throw the sent. Big thing to keep and eye on is beach vendors, life guards and Police. Never look like your avoiding them as they will get suspicious. Bottom line, if in doubt, chuck it out and don't take the risk. There we plenty of other opportunities I could have captured but I just felt it was too risky and walked on by. You'll often get them the next day. I also never look at the "target" and will often be looking the other way when walking past...this (as stated) is simply practise. The video grabs are in 4k (1920 x 1200) and not cropped. I think the quality is acceptable but not as good as a DSLR....but there is no fricking way I'm taking camera on a beach again...just too risky. I saw a guy this year doing it and "clocked" him and he knew he'd been busted...I've had people look at me when using iPhone Video but I look at them square on as I'm "just listening to my tunes"...by the way, I simply use a leather case to cover the screen but also use a screen protector that has privacy glass too.

Ohh...point worth mentioning, there are some grabs where it looks like I got busted but it's normally because I'm humming or whistling along to the supposed tunes and they happen to look up as I pass :-)

Never forget that this is a risky hobby, which I think we all love, but it's not worth being busted for!!!
