On a related note oneclickchicks just got busted on the yahoo wnbr group. I quote:

I might do one or more of the rides this year and may take ‘photos or video bit I'm in two minds about sharing images as a result of this.

As far as I can see the WNBR movement goes to some trouble to promote an all inclusive non-discriminatory event. Seeing a forum talking in derogatory terms about women have an entire thread devoted to WNBR events (and purloining images from all over the web as well) is rather sad.

Any thoughts?

The threads here, especially the WNBR ones, are overwhelmingly positive. They typically celebrate the women involved for their beauty and their bravery. The rare derogatory comments either get instantly deleted, or put in their rightful place.

Now, I realize many people don't approve of sexualizing the naked female body, which does go on here, but that's a whole other thing than "talking in derogatory terms." And to that argument, I'd just suggest they pay attention to the last couple thousand years of art history, or maybe even just read the bawdy slogans the riders paint on their bodies. You can't have it both ways (or more correctly, you can try, but you're just making yourself sound ridiculous).

Flankers comments are spot on. I have to admit though that over at Flickr, I try not to advertise my connections to OCC too much because I know there are those that would prefer to not have their pics posted here. But those people don't know how respectful and admiring we are of women in general. That respect permeates the whole site and is well cultivated by the moderators. Also, I might add that those that take pics at events such as WNBR are doing a great service to that event regardless of where they post them. "Ed" just needs to spend a little more time here. I'm sure he would enjoy it...

I also note that nowadays 70% of photos taken on Flikr seem to concentrate on the male form in what I imagine is a sexual way. I am sure these get put up on 'oneclickpricks' :rolleyes: or something similar.

I have also noticed that the gay male snappers often concentrate on the clothed/topless females on the ride too, often overlooking the FF riders. This rule comes up in the Solstice rides too.

I think that for many riders (M and F) there is a latent sexual element, it is a mild turn-on to get fully nude in public, it's exciting, liberating and you are also promoting a worthwhile set of causes at the same time.....I know having done it more than once!

There is a guy over there (wish I could remember his user name now) who has been posting thousands and thousands of naked pics of himself lately, all outdoors and in the exact same, ridiculous pose. No, he has two poses. The main one has him on his tip toes with arms and legs bent and spread. His hands are curled into fists. He grins ridiculously in each pic. I wrote him to ask if his legs get tired, then implied he was an idiot. i can't imagine the sheer amount of time he has put into this. No variation in the poses at all. Obsessive. Moronic. And clogging up Flickr to the point where I get pretty mad...
