I think I saw recent images of nudity in the 2000's so I think nudity is still around in the magazines.

See p. 328 here for example : http://etnolinguistica.wdfiles.com/l...pper_xingu.pdf And, they also very often use body painting in ritual celebrations, sometimes even in daily activities like fight training (mostly for men in fact, women generally wear body painting mainly for ceremonies, because an important aspect of their rituals is that it's a time when women are supposed to act the same way as men, so it's a way to blur the usual gender differences) |
The plucking of the hair, according to a National Geographic article some years back, is to prevent body lice and crabs.

A lot of the contemporary tatoo, bodypaint and shaving trend was kicked off by a wave of "ethnic fashination" 10 or so years ago. So, you're looking at the original now, not the western copy. HK |
Check out the ethnic fashion show on the supermodel thread !!\

I think it's a very nice situation: white women dressed like tribal ones ... They are topless or rather nude among other people, black and white, while usually they are used to cover their body, especially their tits ... Very exciting situation!! Please more and more pics look at: https://forum.oneclickchicks.com/show...=76547&page=14 Cheers |

A while back, there was a TV5 (France) documentary about a south american native tribe. Without warning, the french reporter, strips off, gets painted, and joins in the ceremony. What a great idea! Does anyone have a video or better screen shots?
|
any clue on the name of the documentary? when it aired? are you sure it's about a south american tribe?
|
I also would love to know more about that Documentation and
the female reporter of course. Maybe on of our French members recognizes her. |
