Cutting and pasting is the same as a deletion - the file is marked for deletion in the file allocation table, but the bits representing the file remain until the operating system runs out of unused bits and has to start writing over top of areas marked for deletion. (Sectors of storage marked for deletion are overwritten in the order they were marked for deletion (oldest used first, newest used last, with a few exceptions that I won’t go into).

Formatting isn’t a true “wipe” of the storage device. The act of formatting simply marks all areas of the storage as usable, and removes their entries in the file allocation table. Only a multi-pass format (write all zeros, then write all ones, then write all zeros again) truly wipes the storage. You’ll oftentimes see this method referred to as DoD Wipe, or “Department of Defense” wipe. It’s similar to how President Nixon erased his recordings of conversations during the Watergate scandal. But, I’m willing to bet that some tech in the future (possibly with the aid of AI?) will be able to recover those recordings. 🙂

Yesterday I was going to Rite Aid to make some hard copies of mostly pool photo with the photo machine like I do from time to time,fist I went to Dunkin then Lowe's then Home Depot and when I got to Rite Aid my SD card was gone,it must have came out when I pulled my keys out of my pocket,about 20-30 thong pics 10 topless of the wife in the pool.

I have around 8 photo films from a camera that I know 100% have my friends wife on nude. Now these films have been developed but I have the cartridges can these be re developed??

If by cartridges you mean the developed negatives then they can be reprinted or scanned.

Some/many commercial photo developers will not print nudes. For example, unless they changed their policy, Wal-Mart will not print nudes (they might even call the police if they see a subject who looks young).

Wow that is way too strict.

In my case the lady was topless (both breasts fully visible).

I complained and Wal-Mart refunded my $2 or whatever but still refused to print the photo. The manager explained that Wal-Mart has young people on staff and they shouldn't be exposed to such nudity.

I ended up taking my negative (thank goodness we now have digital cameras) to a shop in the gay village and they printed the photo for me.

Self-service Photo Printing
 

I think I did this once and it worked. I used the Wal-Mart self-service photo printing. The problem is that machine is sitting in an open area and any passerby could see naked pics of my woman on the screen.

Attached is the print I got from the shop in the Gay Village. Hard to believe this pic was taken in 2002. Taken with a film camera as digital cameras were still fairly new in 2002.

(Don't know whatever happened to the Wal-Mart print. Maybe Wal-Mart took it when they gave me the refund.)

Took this pic on August 15, 2009. I think I had a digital camera so no need to bother Wal-Mart photo finishing. I was younger then and so were the 3 ladies.

I was inspired by this thread, getting ready to buy as may used cards from ebay as I can and hopefully post some wins.

Was working at a job and some girls were moving out. They placed heaps of stuff out for collection including an old lap top and a canon 550 slr still with its case bag, cables and charger Still have to dig into the hard drive but apart from holiday photos of Japan the only risque pics were these.

Did you try any data recovery software? There are some free ones available out there. Assuming it's a HDD and not an SSD any deleted files would still be on there unless overridden.

- Classic SD cards ?
- Micro SD cards ?

i guess Classic are more used in Photo & Micro in smartphone. Both are interesting or you suggest one of them in priority ?

Definitely MicroSD. Many full size SD cards will be from industrial uses and won't have any media on them.
