Airbrushed bush

I've been curious about the "airbrushing." Sometimes Diane Webber is airbrushed; sometimes she isn't. Was it during a certain time period that the bush was airbrushed? And then the original pics were re-released later?

How did that work?

As I remember it, some magazines sold at the newsstands or book sellers would be the magazines that were "airbrushed" for sale to the general public. If you were a member of one of the nudist organizations then you received the magazines that featured unedited photos. Found this out when me & my childhood friends found the stash of books our dads had hidden in the shop!:D:D

It was never that popular in America. It was just that, in the Sixties, nudist magazines were the only place you could legally see pictures that showed bush.

Ironically, these days, only one in six women has a bush, and most men are frightened at the sight of them. Le sigh.

When my wife first got into social nudism, she decided that she was going to "go traditional" bush. But then she got there and realized she was the only one at the resort with a full set of pubes. Which made her self-conscious and led to her decision to shave it off.

Funny how that works.

Funny how ALL of this works. First, where does Sanchez get his one in six statistic? He must be a very busy guy! Second, why would nudist prefer to go smooth instead of bushy- I thought nudism was a body positive endeavor. Finally, where are all the trimming enthusiasts- Mohawks Brazilians and Squared Triangle types. Rich

I agree with your analysis of nudism over time. I think in the "old days - 60s etc" nudists didn't practice it in their own yards or public beaches, just primarily at camps/colonies. Plus as we are all aware it is more acceptable now in the public eye as long as you don't do it somewhere that offends textile folks.

I remember I had relatives that were nudists and went to camps, but were very private and closed mouth about it. I only found this out when I came across pictures they had taken and were developed by a friend. The magazines were an exception, but I think many of the pictures were of professional models. Although I did find pictures of my aunt and uncle and friends of theirs in a magazine in a nudist resort library.

Funny anecdote - When I found the pictures of these folks in a magazine in the library I started to get "chubbie". The librarian gal noticed and said I better be careful. I told her the pictures I was looking at were friends/family from the 60s. She laughed and replied that it was somewhat common for that to happen.

It is nice that nudism is accepted by society and it isn't difficult to locate a place to enjoy it.

Me two cents...

I feel bad for my father when I consider what passed for “porn” in the 40s and 50s! Rich

For some being "body positive" might mean going "natural" and keeping a full set of pubes. For others it might mean being "totally naked", which might mean removing all body hair. Interpretations vary.

But the choice of being shaven, trimmed or "natural" has more to do with how nudist women choose to present themselves. Just because they are naked doesn't mean they drop their "fashion sense." Even the nudist women of "yesteryear" would still get their hair done before heading to the resort.
