How exactly is the average poster supposed to know whether a pic is cropped or not? A lot of the pics posted in this thread originate from other forums and aren't cropped by the posters on this forum. If a poster has to check every single pic posted whether it is cropped or not nothing will ever get posted as a lot of posters don't have time to trawl the internet to try to find out if it's cropped, I know I don't. You might as well close down the whole site as nothing will ever get posted.

Nowhere in the rules does it say that it is incumbant on the member to check if a pic is cropped or not (it only says not to crop pics to avoid posting watermarked pics). This is the job of moderators as yourself to identify these posts and it is incumbant on you, as moderator, to remove such posts.

Now, if a member is knowingly posting cropped pics it's another story but there is almost no way of knowing that for sure and threatening to close a whole thread that is over 700 pages long and almost a decade old over a couple of cropped pics (which is your job as moderator to remove) is a total dick move.:mad:

It’s really not that hard. If you find a picture of a beautiful girl - naked on a beach in perfect focus - it most likely came from a pro site. But there’s no watermark so you’re tempted to post it anyway. Instead you can easily use the reverseimagesearch[dot]org site, in conjunction with yandex, and resolve about 90% of these probs. Rule 5 shown above does make this our responsibility. I know that I use this frequently if I’m not confident of the source of the pics I post. Also - as has been pointed out - it is WAY more than “a couple of cropped pics”.
I might add that saying a mod’s efforts to maintain this site is a “dick move” is probably not the best tactic. Good luck though...

Hi Max. My point is that removing a thread that has over 10 million views and that is almost a decade old over one or two offending members is, in my opinion, the definition of a "dick move". This is the most extreme course of action and unnecessary. Why not just ban the members who continue to knowingly post cropped pics?

As for reverse image search, it doesn't always return a result. I've reverse image search pics posted on OCC with Google and Yandex without a result (not even showing the OCC post).

I agree with Max. I have seen that there are tons of photos from this forum that have been stolen from other sites (I recognize them easily but you can also use the search engine). If you don't have any unique own material, I do not see the point of publishing it here anyway, unless it from a special non-pay site (actually I am tired of all reposts). And reposting material from pay-sites or with logos do not make sense anyway and furthermore you do not follow the rules. I think people who break the rules in this respect should get one warning and then banned, but it's up to the administator. And it's time for members to take their responsibility. I do like this thread, but people must start to behave and follow the rules, some contribute in a fantastic way, but way too many simply reposts things from pay-sites.

The Rules say, "DO NOT POST a picture with the watermark edited out in order to circumvent rule #4."

You say, "it only says not to crop pics to avoid posting watermarked pics." This is totally wrong.

I suggest you read this Sticky, written by the owner of this site more than 13 years ago, titled, "You will be BANNED if you..."

I will repeat the last line of that post:

"Up until now, we have been very generous about editing people's threads for them. From now on if a single photo or video breaks the rules, we may delete the entire post or thread without notice."

Now, tell the owner of this site that his post was a "dick move."

The average person is not going to recognize those exist. I think best you can do is ask where they saved them from and maybe you’ll have a common source you can ward people off from.

Even if you closed the thread, a new one on this topic isn’t gonna have any easier time so you’d need to effectively ban beach pics from being posted.

ILTB and Beachvoy are dead and gone - maybe a big reason why so many of their pics are apprearing cropped; however there's no real reason to delete them now that the original sites are not operating, is there? Nobody to bother about a dead copyright.

Same for Coccozella, no?

Cocozella is now dead. They have closed their doors so unlikely to give a shit!

This is not a discussion thread, so I'm going to have the last word. If these are your positions, that the sites are dead so what the hell, then again I ask you to PM Alex, the owner of the site, and ask him to change the rules.

Basically, for the last several years, this thread, and others like it, are nothing but recycled material from previous years. There really is no reason to add to it anymore. Just let them die the deaths they deserve.
