I would like to know one thing about flickr.....

I know many of you already know .....that
If you see the archive in members profile in flickr ..... then you can find the actual number of picture posted by them (containing private as well). Their profile page give less number of picture if there are hidden picture.

Now my question is, if the filckr member is in some group and if he/she post some of their private picture in the group ...will I BE ABLE TO SEE IT ?
Or do I also have to be friends of that member to see it
Or be member of that group to see them ?

If they post it to a group, it doesn't matter what your relation to them is (unless perhaps they've blocked you: I have no experience with that!); what matters is that you have to be a member of that same group.

I have a picture from flicker but don't know the account name in flickr. I mean when I try to open the page with the number in the picture ...it says private account and cannot be opened. Is there a way to find the name of the flickr account even though if the pics are not visible ????

I am not sure ...but I tried with the number on the picture. It says private pics. Maybe the other account has stolen the picture from the original uploader. Anyway thanks once again ...

Not friends with them. I found the photos by searching in some of the groups to which they belong. By the way, their last upload was over 6 years ago, so probably nothing new.

Sorry, but that is not how it works. In "archives" you see the exact number of pics that is visible to you and on the profile-page there is exactly this number of pics stated. If you are not more than a follower, then you will in all cases see only the number of public pics. Even if you saw private pics in a group and even if the accont owner sent you a guest pass that let you see a few private pics. The number of pics will only count the publically visible pics.

If someone makes you friend or family you will see more pics (if they have) and both figures (on the archives-page and on the profile-page) will rise. But even then, they will not include the private pics (nor the family pics if your postiton is only friend).

Sometimes there seems to be an exception. This is directly after someone made you friend. It is possible then, that the number of pics given on the profile-page still shows the old figure of only the public pics. Even reloading the page several times does not actualize that figure. But after a while (maybe one or two days) the number given there should be correct.
(technically the flickr pages are really poor. And their databases quite often hang).
I never tried to find out, if the number on the archives-page actualizes directly or at least quicker than that on the profile-page. If that is so, this might be an explanation for the discrepancy you noticed.

Honestly speaking, I am very new to Flickr and this wonderful site. I correlated the picture count that shows in facebook with Flickr. It's quiet funny but I am really sorry if I have misguided any members with my ignorance assumption. Seriously, I am LOL. More than anything, I am very thankful to kaisermaximilian for guiding me on the subject. Else, I am not sure for how long I would have carried this ignorance with me ..... hahahha. I do expect same kind of comments and suggestion from any members as long as I am on this site ....... No offence. Once again, thank you to kaisermaximilian.
