Glad they went in the direction they did. :) I hate when a film puts women in bloomers to sanitize and de-humiliate a scene, especially if bloomers aren't period-correct for the film. (No offense to the bloomer lovers out there :D). I'm not a fan of tap pants for the same reason.

Bloomers were named after Amelia Bloomer (see photo), who advocated for less restrictive women's underwear, but did not actually invent them. Similar to Thomas Crapper, the namesake, but not the inventor of the flush toilet. That distinction goes to German inventors Alois Sheissestuhl and Ludwig Von Poopenhausen.

Thank you! I was having a hard time remembering my first exposure to the genre, and this was definitely one of them along with The Little Mermaid from Disney.

The other, which I first saw when I was in elementary school, was the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap with Lindsay Lohan. A posh British girl and a spunky American tomboy, both played by Lindsay Lohan, meet at summer camp and are instant rivals. One night while everyone's playing poker in one of the cabins, the two girls clash and have a heated competition when they decide to play one-on-one. They decide to raise the stakes at one point with a wager for the loser, both feeling cocky.

American Girl: "Loser jumps into the lake after the game."

British Girl: "Excellent."

American Girl: "Butt. Naked."

British Girl: "Even more excellent. Start unzipping Parker."

The two girls reveal their hands, and the British girl loses. It then cuts to her walking down the dock (implied to be naked) with all the other girls laughing and teasing her. Saying things like "Hot stuff!" "Love the birthday suit!" "Looking good!" and she honors the bet, cutting to a silhouette of her diving into the lake. I replayed that scene a bunch of times when I was in the 4th or 5th grade lmao.

Well, they weren't "mom jeans" at the time. Never figured out if they were designed to cover the hi-cut panties, or the panties were designed to compliment the jeans. Anyway, high waisted jeans, and hi-cut panties seem to be coming back into style. I just hope the stonewashing doesn't come back. That was a truly awful look.

There were a few, but the dream sequence in Bring it On will always hold a special place in my heart.

That Terri Hatcher seen is iconic! Some great acting there. I really enjoy all the forgein language remakes of it to.

That seen from the Proposal shows so much skin and really lets you enjoy the moment. The biggest bummer of it for me is that I just don't find Sandra Bullock attractive. There are so many mainstream actresses I wish were in her place!

The Bring it On scene is so great! I love that you get to hear the jokes and cat calls from the audience at her exposure. I remember be a premonition in the movie and not just a dream...

Each to their own! I love enf scenes where you know the actress is completely naked but the privates are covered, which is why the proposal is almost perfect for me. In my opinion I think the closest perfect scene we’ve had was Liza Koshy in her YouTube series.
