The pre-strip photos I have are just named '001.jpg' to '011.jpg'- I imagine I found them here on the 2010 thread, but don't know of a way to reverse search for filenames like that. PM me if you want those. In any event when combining images I tend to upscale rather than downscale them- you'll see my comp image is about 3000px square, whereas the originals are all under 1024px.

Here are a few sources though, hope they include the ones you're after. Needless to say, check fwd and back in the photostreams as some are multiples. I see you uploaded one of the images yourself, Laylak, to the 2011 OCC thread- thanks and credit to original posters and photographers, as I always mean but only sometimes repeat.

Also I've been meaning to post this BBC 'Woman's Hour' podcast on female nudity that was broadcast in the UK earlier in the year- rest assured I'm not a regular listener! Just in case anyone's interested in the ethics and philosophy involved in participating- regular London steward Natasha is one of the panel, and it makes an entertaining listen, in particular the last 10-15 minutes. That old chestnut; nudity as female empowerment or post-rationalised pornography; is OCC really a feminist's matriarchal utopia? ;)

Canterbury Tomorrow

No great hopes for this one, it'll be a load of fat middle-aged men on bikes.

The organiser is a knob head and doesn't like photographers so it gets bugger all publicity except when one guy turns up with an erection and it goes viral!

You were wrong. It wasn't 'a load' of fat middle aged men on bikes. It was 18, and one of those was the notorious Mr Folding Bike, who was supposedly banned from every UK ride :p Plus 3 completely dressed women, wives of the organisers. Even some of the real stalwarts who used to do pretty much every ride were absent this time round. Maybe a big load of riders joined in later on...but I doubt it very much :p

I was in the area anyway so thought I'd go along to the start. Really, I just can't see the point in this ride happening when the turnout is so low. Other than a handful of curious people just outside the castle grounds, no one seemed remotely interested as the small group made its way into town. Weather was about ideal too - sunny and very warm.

The local paper's website carried it live as a (female) reporter went round with them and yes it seems that there were no naked women and the number of people at the end was about the same as the start, so yeah 18 sounds about right.

I can't give full names as it breaks the rules here but to be clear 'Barry' is the organiser, the knob head I'm referring to is 'Simon' who cancelled the ride in Portsmouth, he also organises (and lives in) Folkestone. He was at the ride and he was the one who banned the Black guy on the fold up bike, I even saw him chasing the guy on Brighton beach, just goes to show what a power trip 'Simon' is on! The guy just took his shirt off, writes a 'No Fracking' slogan on his back and is now a fully paid up member of the WNBR!

These small rides are madness and do no good at all.

I would actually suggest that some of the small rides do more harm than good. People who see these go away thinking WNBR is just about middle aged to elderly men, almost entirely long time naturists, riding about in small groups for no obvious reason. At least the bigger rides get positive coverage, by and large, and the message is obvious.

The Hastings one I did in 2014, despite being pretty small (just over 50 riders) and 95% male, at least got a good response from the spectators and got the message over.

The 2014 Canterbury ride looked like things were moving in the right direction, with about 100 taking part and even some women among the participants. Unfortunately at least one of these was harassed by one or more fellow riders. I think the 'stiffgate' debacle last year made this ride a laughing stock and I would be very surprised if there was another in 2017.

If Brighton gets the sort of weather Canterbury had today, turnout is sure to be high and the atmosphere superb. But no doubt that one will be grey/cool/windy.

I can do this if you wish, I also have opinions about the rides and if they are worth doing.

Anyone interested in writing short descriptions for where the rides tend to pause for photo opportunities? Specifically for those who don't have cars or bikes. Bristol is next weekend, so that could be the first one to write up.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Can't help with the southern rides, being based north of the border these days and not having covered a ride myself. I've seen lots of good tips over recent years here on OCC about putting ride participants at their ease about photos; Pedro, FDooby, and Looker81 spring immediately to mind.

I'm considering popping down for the inaugural Newcastle ride though, in July. As a new ride with 1,000 potential riders it may well be worth the 3hr return trip- always a beautiful drive as well ;). The suggested route is on the FB page, and I've had a look over it- know the ground moderately well after doing the GNR twice and visiting the city several times over the years. I can see at least five good photo op spots plus four potential rest/regrouping areas.

My thoughts would benefit from more detailed knowledge though. Anyone interested in sharing ideas, please PM me!

Seeing the first pics of the Canterbury WNBR, it seems that it was indeed a cockfest, all cockride. :o:(
So not interesting for OCC, however some female spectators liked to see the naked riders passing by. :p

Weather for Bristol is not looking good either, typical that last weekend was perfect and a great ride gets overcast and a max of 18C!
