There is an ongoing debate on the skinny dip thread concerning frequency of reposted pics in my post.

I offered to stop posting on threads if the owner or starter requested and move future post to another thread line.

Sal32; who started this thread requested that I cease posting on this thread.

Did not expect any issues with the Life's a Beach thread. Noone has complained of repost on that thread.

I did some research; you started the Thread but have not psoted on it since 5-26-09.

Going back 10 pages the post with pics have been 52 by myself.

I have been trying to stay out of the whole Klondike osreb discussion, as I don't think I have much to add, and only risk pissing someone off by commenting. But this post convinces me that this has become a big issue, and so I will speak my mind.

I think Klondike and osreb are two of the best posters on the site, I would hate to see either of you leave. I agree that too many re-posts can be a problem, but I also think that this is a porn site, where people generally come for relaxation, and not a scholarly archive. I would suggest that both Klondike and osreb could compromise - osreb, by making an effort to avoid reposts, and Klondike, by not being quite so anal about thread organization.
That is my opinion, thanks to you both for all of your great posts.

Over about the last 2 years, in between a few original sets you've posted on my beach thread, you have been reposting a large assortment of pics a gazillion times over and several members have complained about this including Klondike

In April 2008 klondike had 'Thanks' clicked 8 times for saying this,

In Oct 2008 i said in a jokingly way as to not offend you
from this point onwards the message was clearly not getting through as you continued your habit of reposting the same pics over and over and over, and in frustration i was posting less and less until i was so pissed off i gave up on my beloved beach thread.

I've been getting inundated calls over the past year or so from Greenpeace asking about my polluted beach!

this beach folk says , its easy. You (osreb) said you would stop posting in this thread if sal32 asked you to. He asked you to stop............ so stop. I don't want to see debates in threads , although I must admit , this has been handled very politely compared to most forum debates I have seen :D so just do what you said you would do and lets move on :)

I don't mind the "anal" comment because it has been implied before and if thats the way i am about pics, thats the way I am. My house, BTW, is a garbage dump, but the pics, at least, are spotlessly organized.

Osreb and I are like the odd couple. I like to think I can find any pic at any time and that has some advantages in this forum. To be able to do that has helped many posters out when requesting this or that in the past.

And the scholarly stuff - just skip over it.....

I was seeking the opinion of those who heve been recently active of this thread.
Active being those who post pics, post comments and thank posters.

Going back 10 pages of post and checking psoting profiles Sal, Zukeeper and Klondike
have no post, no comments - positive or negative, and no thanks on Life's a Beach.

There have been nothing but positive responses to my post in the same time period and was
surprised when requested not to post here with explanation as Zeban and Klondike had done.

I think we can all agree that it is time to move on....

I will stay off the requested threads.

Those who want are invited to join me at "Beach Babes" and "Skinny Dippin Babes".

And all my other threads where you are all welocome to post, even Klondike, Zeban, and Sal

my reply was that of a viewer (silent perhaps), not a poster, and as a defender of all those who, like Sal32, attempt the sometimes difficult task of hosting large threads and keeping them on topic/repost free.

I'll be keeping tabs on your new threads, Osreb - not for reposts, either, but for the good stuff..

People with vastly different posting styles probably should not be posting in the same threads for the simple reason that they have different fan bases, and thus these threads would by nature not totally satisfy anyone. I mean, a mixed thread containing both yours and my posts would be like a thread designed by a committee. People that follow your work might be put off by my work, and vice versa. So why continue on like this if it's not really satisfying anyone?

Anyway, thanks for your attention to this Osreb, and I look forward to seeing how the changes are received by everyone.

I greatly appreciate those guys who contribute and contribute and contribute. Such as osreb and Klondike.

I am occasionally annoyed by reposts, but mostly I look at a repost as "an oldie but a goodie", and I enjoy the reminder of a good picture I'd already seen.

I appreciate Sal32, also. But I don't often equate starting a thread with owning a thread--unless it's a very short-lived thread. When a thread becomes as active as Life's a Beach, I look at it as the thread starter started a good thing, and gave it to the forum. In other words, I don't see at as Sal32's thread to control.

Finally, threads like Life's a Beach are so big it's really impossible to post without risk of reposting. The only way to prevent reposts on such a successful thread would be to stop new postings. (And of course the thread would no longer be successful.)

Sal32, please don't take offense at any of this. I mean no disrespect toward you and I love what you've done for the forum over and over.

Obviously that's always going to happen, because one can't remember all the thousand pics that have been posted here. I've got no dramas with that!

Now the problem,....osreb has posted some great pics here, but that's been overshadowed by the deluge of reposts in between, and what's peeved me and others off is the scale of his constant reposting of pics(most often all 10 pics in the set) knowing they were already posted. Most often they were posted(or in many cases reposted) just a few pages back or a month or so back. It's been happening here for awhile, and in other threads, and it was just starting to happen in the skinny dipping thread too, and in very blatant manner too!!

I wasn't going to respond here, in part because Fango or another mod will probably delete it anyway soon enough, but - since you "asked"...(and hopefully Fango will read this before hitting "delete"

Here's what I have to say about the "thread ownership" issue:

This may be an unwritten rule, but it is widely practiced, and I think could be stated expliciting in the posting guidelines section. And it also MAKES SENSE! - because when people don't follow this practice, members suffer! They can no longer be guaranteed an orderly and predictable thread covering the topic of interest. I know that reposts inevitably grow as a thread grows, but there ought to be a "clause" in this statement to the effect that
continued bumping of these threads with reposted material after the original stuff dries up is not encouraged. In otherwords, let these threads die rather than become REPOST HEAVEN!!

If Fango removes this, I hope he and the other mods will still consider addressing this "thread ownership" issue with a formal statement like the one above, as it is clear that still not everyone gets it.
