A teenage beauty has become famous for the scandalous behaviour of walking the streets naked – although it is for good reason.
Student Liana Klevtsova, 19, may have graced the cover of Vogue but now it seems she is more well-known as the face, and body, of campaigns for protest group Golaya Pravda (Naked Truth).
The aspiring catwalk model has been used by the activists for three controversial adverts, addressing high mortgage interest rates, fuel costs and the expense of public transport commutes in her home city of Irkutsk.
And, unsurprisingly, the images of her without any clothes on have gone viral around the world and attracted praise as well as criticism of her actions. Despite her sudden modelling fame, Liana said she has a greater interest in photography.
She said: 'I'm not a model. In my case it's simply a hobby that I like and there is no financial rationale. I'm studying, not working yet, and I am doing an internship related to my major. It is difficult for students to find a job without having any experience in the field these days.
'I went to a photo school and was doing a course in photography, but when we had the classes I noticed that I was not shooting models. Instead, I thought about what and how I would do it in their place. The reality was cooler than I expected.'
Liana first stripped off in December as part of a campaign to protest at high mortgage rates. Wearing nothing but a pair of red stiletto shoes and holding a passport in front of Sberbank, the advert states: 'I’ve paid off my mortgage'....
The second naked campaign, to protest against high fuel prices, shows Liana filling up a large off-road car next to a half-dressed man filling up his little car.
The photo shoot took place secretly at 3am. Initially the idea was to also have a fully-dressed girl riding a pink bike in front of the gas station.
Liana said: 'It was the pre-New Year boom coupled with fuel crisis when if you remember there were lots of car lining up at gas stations and constant news about the falling oil price.
'Then they said on TV that the rouble had dropped, that our country had given up a multi-billion debt to someone who you can't find on map instantly, and that we were going to provide Ukraine with cheap natural gas given that war veterans are being insulted there.
'Then someone called from Sberbank to notify us that a payment was overdue. It was the last straw. We represented it as the strength of Russian nation despite everything and we really wanted to show that we don't care about sanctions and the crisis.
'We wanted to send this positive message to people that nothing can bring us down, and the contrast of winter and naked body we had to show it.' She added: 'People are not ready to fight to lower fuel prices. It's easier for them to buy a smaller car.'
Her most recent naked campaign was to protest at the cost of public transport, with three photos of her and a bus driver.
The first photo depicts bus driver naked and a fully-dressed passenger, Liana, with a caption that reads: 'That's how it was'. The second shows a naked passenger and fully-dressed driver, and reads: 'That's how it will be.' The final photo depicts both fully-dressed, with the words: 'That's how it should be.'
According to the Golaya Pravda's social network page, they wanted to show solidarity with drivers and complain at rising prices.
The group states: 'There is a situation forming in the country that the problem of commute transport prices is becoming a burden on passengers and transport companies. However, this issue should be sorted at the highest level.'
