I can tell you that at every nude beach I've ever been to, you see MANY couples where the man is completely naked while the woman wears a modest one or two-piece swimsuit. I counted about 20 such couples at Gunnison. Furthermore, you can go to a clothing optional beach and keep to yourselves. You don't have to talk to or interact with anyone else.

If you make her understand that (1) she can wear her bathing suit there without feeling out of place, (2) there will be many other women there in swimsuits (with many of them in the company of naked men), and (3) she will be under no pressure whatsoever to disrobe, hopefully you can get her to change her mind.

Thanks Alonzo, I have hinted at this but I think she thinks I am joking. Rather than reveal my 'hand' I think I might have more of a chance success if we stumbled on a clothing optional beach by 'accident'. Everywhere we go never seems to have such beaches with easy access as we are getting on a bit now, still you never know, one day...

If it's any consolation, this was my/our exact introduction to naturism many years ago when we did really stumble on a nudist beach. Of course, I stripped and swam naked and loved the freedom of sunbathing without some clingy costume. She sweated under a fierce Spanish sky in a one piece costume which, after a couple of hours, Mrs. Shy rolled down to go topless for the first time. I suggested we revisit the beach the next day and she agreed, more on account of it being relatively sparsely populated by comparison to the textile beach and we could find our own space without our towels overlapping our beach neighbours. She then surprised me by buying a bikini in the beach shop on the way back to our hotel, and surprised me more by leaving the top half in the hotel the following morning, before happily swimming and sunbathing topless for the second day. I, of course, went nude for the entire day. I think she felt out of place being 'covered up', actually, as if disapproving eyes were glowering until she did the decent thing! :D



On day 3 we got up early, arrived at the beach shortly after the sun rose, and as no one else was around I suggested she might like a quick skinny dip. She agreed, loved it, we went back to our towels, and the bikini briefs were stuffed into our beachbag, never to be worn again. We've got more than 20 years naturist experience behind us now! :)
