Thanks for the inside information regarding photo days ECUpirate – that clarifies a few things. For example, you can see a backdrop in the last picture of post #661, which seems to be a rough draft of the one used in the Miss Nude International (USA) competition in 1980 so the girls could just be parading around it on a photo day. Since some of the girls are wearing numbers (and didn’t compete in Miss Nude International), perhaps these were pre-pageant photos for Miss Nude California 1980 or maybe there was no competition that year. Does anyone have any pictures of an actual pageant?

With regard to the 1979 competition, I agree that posts #652-5 were probably taken on a pre-pageant photo day while those in Jennysathome’s post #656 were from the actual pageant. It’s a shame that there’re not more photos of the pageants, but I suppose they were only taken by accredited photographers and so you only get to see them if they were published. I assume the pre-pageant photos were sold to the general public, which is why they seem to be so prevalent around the web (and better quality).

There were two pageants with an Outer Space/Planetary theme and I think that they both relate to the 1981 competitions. I believe that the pictures below are from Ms Nude International 1981. Most of them have been cropped from magazine pages posted to various places on the net, so again credit goes to the initial scanner/posters.

I’ll follow up with a few pictures of the presentations.

The winner of Miss Nude International 1981 was Anna Reynolds, who may have been the first overseas winner since she came from Santiago in Chile. Dell Berger (the previous year’s winner) is presenting the crown to her in the first picture. I presume that the third picture is one of the runners up. Any more pictures out there?

Miss Nude California 1981 contestants: 2, 6(x4), 10, 11, 12, 14 & 17. (As with all these posts - credit to the original poster). It looks like most of these pictures were taken pre-pageant on a photo-op day.

Miss Nude California 1981 contestants: 18 and 20(x2) and the winner of the competition (contestant 5) who appeared in a number of other pageants around this time – unfortunately I don’t know her name. Does anyone have any further information/pictures?

The winner also took part in the Miss Nude International USA 1980 pageant. She is Susan Wadleigh and was number 13. The photo below is my own scan from the article and is maybe slightly better resolution than the one posted earlier by wobble27. Her tattoo helps to identify her in both contests.

I have some more information and this may confuse things. I'm pretty sure these stage photos are from the Miss Nude International USA 1981 pageant. It may be a pre-pageant day.

The picture below shows Susan Wadleigh as Miss Nude California and the backdrop is from 1980. I think the photo posted here with her sash from 1981 and her hair up must be her returning as winner that year. The stage photos show her with her hair down and I think this is her taking part in Miss Nude International USA 1981.
