This is false. Although most common in Central Europe, it definitely exists outside of that. In Finland it’s virtually unheard of, it seems, but there are places in Sweden in particular where it’s mandatory nudity, and a few places in both Norway and Denmark where it is at least clothing optional.
In Northern Italy there are also nude spas, and several places in Eastern Europe.

Yes it is false, I know. But I'm trying to simplify things for the sake of clarity. I know that there is at least one mixed clothing optional spa in Norway (I've been there!), but generally spas in Norway/Sweden/Denmark/Finland are not nude spas. And I know there are public naked saunas in Sweden, but as far as I know, they are usually gender-segregated. Which is not even that bad; Swedish men look good naked.

But I would say that if someone is looking for some mixed nudity, please head out to Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria or Switzerland (?). These are the good bets. Outside of those countries mixed nude spas are not the norm, and if you want to find a naked spa somewhere else around the world, please use Google. Or what does it matter.. of course anyone here can ask things like "How's Cyprus?", "How's Rome?", "How's Vilnius?".. but it just isn't there.

Agreed

Might as well ask where the best nude spa in Saudi Arabia is.

In that case I agree completely :)

I mean Rome was just such an absurd question I had to do the whole Vatican thing.

you do realize that the Romans invented the mixed gender communal baths I suppose and were very open to their sexuality? I had searched but just thought one of the perverts around here may have known something. Sorry for the trouble. But hey, if the question made you think of the Pope's dick that would be down to your upbringing.

Not how I read it. Roman bathes were not gender mixed. And nudity / sexuality was not something for open display. Given these facts - historians are puzzled that toilets were not gender seperated...

To settle it once and for all
Mixed nude sauna: Belgium (the northern part), Netherlands, Germany.

Outside of the countries: nudist resorts

Yes you have a few expections. But please always keep this in mind as a rule of thumb

You can add Austria, Switzerland, The Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Slovakia to that. Then you have the part exceptions like some of Northern Italy, and a few around Poland, Norway, Sweden, Hungary, and even Japan

This talk about nude spas in Northern Italy intrigues me. Could someone provide some more specific info about how things work there? Are there large nude spas like in Germany, or is it more some small-scale stuff? And do Italians hang around totally naked in those places, or are they just clothing-optional when many are in swimsuits? I'm curious because I really don't know. But it would be interesting to see a naked spa full of Italians. If someone knows any good places there, I'd appreciate a recommendation.

I take it you are aware of the history of South Tyrol/Alto Adige? The German-style saunas are in the German-speaking, Austria-leaning part, primarily in the hotels that are at least alp-adjacent (but then virtually in all of them). You won't see a lot of ethnic Italians in them, and you won't find any in the more Italian cities like Bolzano.

Ok, thank you. Well I was thinking just something like Bolzano and places where ethnic Italians would hang. But I don't think I'd be that interested visiting saunas in that German-speaking region. It's much easier just go to Germany anyway. Personally I enjoy larger spas, because there is much more to do and see.
