I hated London. Complete opposite of the entirely positive and completely fantastic Brighton ride. But then I guess it summed up the difference between the soulless capital, where everyone is selfish and you could die in the street and people walk over you, and Brighton, where everyone is made welcome and the community spirit is wonderful.

Hearing about London this year makes me worry a bit about the future of that ride. This is on top of the depressing news from NYC. These are both "world cities". They call it the WORLD naked bike ride, but I think it is going to be a long time before it can truly be considered to be a worldwide success.. I can take heart in the photos from Mexico City, where I would not expect a good ride. Otherwise, leadership from London and NYC would really help in this effort. London has done its part. NYC? - ugh.....

There's a depressing gallery up now at Flickr from San Francisco's 2014 ride - totally gay focused with erections, tranvestites etc. C'mon people why do you have to turn everything down there into a shlongfest a la Folsom street fair.
Any excuse to whip your thing out in public. Sorry for the rant, but there have been good rides in SF and this just isn't what it should be all about. Just another example of how public nudity issues there get complicated and overlaid with LGBT and gay issues.
