Not strictly true. Across the world there are naturist resorts where one can live and shop nude on a 24/7 basis. Cao D'agde (there's a thread dedicated to it on OCC) advertises itself as 'the naked city', but I personally think it is tainted by the influx of swingers. Other areas, Vera Playa in Spain, for example, also manages to create an area where you can live nude without fear of the authorities. In fact, in Vera Playa, the Guardia Civilia patrol regularly, and I've often walked nude on the open, public access roads past their patrol cars. What Vera Playa is only missing is a supermarket where one can shop nude. You do need to dress to access their nearest large supermarket (although purchasing a baguette or grabbing a morning coffee nude is still possible).

Spielplatz, in England, has owner/residents on its grounds, and I imagine there are many other places across the globe where similar living is possible.

Of course, it's not quite yet possible to live somewhere permanently without clothes forever. I don't know of anywhere you could live and have your naturist children educated in a naturist school, or have a naturist dentist look after your teeth while you're nude, etc, but the likes of Agde and Vera offer about the best possible alternatives. I have one divorced friend who lives permanently in Vera Playa with her son, and while they must dress to take him to school each day, they'll be out on the beach every day of the summer or after school gets out.

I'm never quite sure what the fascination for 24/7 nakedness is anyway. Naturists will put on clothes if it's cold, and wear a pareo or sunhat if they're trying to protect their skin from the sun. It's about pragmatism, so it's pragmatic to put on T shirt and shorts to visit the textile supermarket or textile dentist. It's not any infringement on our -naturists- rights.
