I think her naked horse ride is at the end of the 1st series. She's naked along with Gail Harrison of Emmerdale Farm fame (she played Marion Wilks from 1972-75). There's a flashback to it at the start of series 2, if I remember rightly, and the girls have swapped places. So I can't remember if you see Emily from the back at the end of Series 1, or the start of Series 2.

Even I don't remember much from that far back😁. But that won't stop me looking for the scene. Thanks for the info.

I've just checked the episode. The clip posted was both scenes joined together and yes they did swap places. I think that they used stand ins for the view from the back, though. And in the second part they were not bottomless.
But at least Emily is nude in the other show, so not a complete loss.

I remember Emily doing an interview about Brass years later, and she said they did actually do the nude scene on horseback. It might of been on something called Comedy Classics from 2008 to celebrate it's 25th anniversary, but I'm sure she said they did do the scene, as I remember when she went for casting she wanted the racy role Gail Harrison got!

They may have done the rearview scene, I don't know. But they were wearing some kind of modesty cover in the later section 'cos you can see strings round their waists on the DVD.

That must of been an interesting sell to an up and coming actress like Charlotte Lucas (who didn't find fame in Bad Girls until after this). You have a chance to win a leading role in a film, but you will have to be stark naked, and dance about on screen. I've often wondered how they approach such things like nudity to an actress starting out - especially when having to do scenes like this! For a further point of interest, Lara Belmont (of The War Zone, 1999) also appears nude in the film.

I thought i recognised her. Now i'm even more disappointed that she didn't show everything in the film. But at least she. made up for it in War Zone.

This thread is beginning to be a classic repository of so many of my favourite nude TV clips from the past, I thought I'd add a few of my own!

This one took me years to find, it's from a very PC Channel 4 drama from about 35 years ago. It's about the troubles in Northern Ireland and the effect it has on families from the Province.

Maeve and her sister move to London and live in a small bedsit apartment with no bath. So they share a portable bath in the room, the Maeve character forgets to dress for some time, whilst having a very earnest conversation with her sister. Then, for no reason the previously rather coy camera work treats us to a full on bush view of the main character, an actress called Mary Jackson! The other actress manages to keep her nudity hidden alas.

For many male Brits of my age, Ms Keen was a regular actress for 30 years on our TV screens, from popular soaps to sitcoms and dramas, she was in them all.


What many people do not know is as an actress starting her career in the early 1970s, she appeared in a sex comedy film called 'Sex Thief'. TV actresses of the period often turned up in these productions, as character parts, but seldom if ever stripped off and romped around naked.

Diane Keen did both! In the process displaying one of the most magnificent bushes ever seen from a well known TV actress. She recently appeared for many years in a popular daytime soap....but every time I saw her on screen, I just remembered her enormous bush:o

Back in the day, a young teenage Anna Friel played a character in a popular soap called 'Brookside' and often featured in celeb magazines and the like. However, she wanted to break out into mainstream drama and films so (when offered a part in a new BBC drama by Stephen Poliarkov, one of the hottest writer/directors on the scene) she jumped at the chance.

I saw an interview in a TV mag and it mentioned that for this, the director asked her to do her first ever nude scene! I didn't expect much from a young soap star, a side boob or bum in a bad light was what I anticipated. No, Anna did more than that and in full lighting too.

Full on FF and sitting on a Dick with another fully nude actor stroking her. No wonder she went on to bigger and better scenes. One of the all time classic BBC TV nude scenes, IMHO. Warning, male FF nudity in this clip too.

Thanks for posting the clip of the Tribe. I've had to import a copy of the DVD to get a good copy of this scene. I was going to cap it but this clip is better than mine would have been! Now if you can find a copy of Imogen Stubbs in Deadline as good as that, you'd have a friend for life.

The other actress is Brid Brennan, and she is still working today. You do actually see her breast as she rises from the bath, but sadly that is as far as she got when it came to nudity. Mary seems to of retired from acting after 1988. Both also appeared in 3 Play For Today dramas together. The drama itself is called Maeve, and was broadcast in 1981. Thanks for uploading it.

Actually, if I recall rightly it may of been somewhat different. I remember reading a interview Anna did for The Sun newspaper after she left Brookside in 1995. She had done a photo shoot that involved her wearing a bowler hat and suspenders (like cabaret), but in it I recall her saying how she had received a number of scripts sent her that all involved nudity in it, but she turned them down, as she didn't want to do nudity after leaving Brookside to advance her career. However, after saying this, I only recall her appearing in Cadfael and didn't work on screen again for the next 2 years! It was only when she relented on her stance on nudity that she got work again, and her first role she got was in The Tribe. Hope this helps.

Thanks, the article I remember was the pre release publicity for The Tribe and she mentions the shock of walking on set and seeing her two male co stars fully nude for the first time, as they had remained mostly clothed in the rehearsals.

Although a well known clip, I'm sure there will be some who don't know this scene...possibly the best TV nude scene of all time!

Why do I make this claim?
1) Four ladies cavorting in decent lighting fully nude, with no attempt to hide their nudity.
2) All four (Daniella Nardini, Anastasia Hille, Annabelle Apison and Clare Holman) are very well known actresses who careers have endured and in some cases, flourished since 1998.

I've since read that Annabelle (the larger lady, with the wonderful wobbly bottom) is a naturist and always takes her holidays at nude resorts. I doubt if the others share her enthusiasm, but certainly join in the fun with abandon in this clip!

Just a shame the scene is shot at night. Rachel Stirling (daughter of Dame Diana Rigg) and Rosamund Pike are the two ladies, both very respected and very busy actors. With modern TV versions of DH Lawrence books leaving out much of the nudity we enjoyed in earlier times, this recent BBC version (I think) keeps up the tradition!

Over the years, British TV has made several programmes where members of the public talk about their views on nudity and bodies, whilst being filmed naked themselves.

These two clips (collected from long dead sites) are a good example. I really love the four young 'Horse Riders' (people were put into groups for this show, with something in common) who seem very at ease with being nude in front of millions of people! Now, they must be well into middle age, wonder what they think now!

Warning, 'nakedness' has no sound and features quite a few naked men.

I love your posts, Pedro. I hope you don't mind me playing around with the lighting a bit. It works better in some scenes than others.
