I haven't posted anything weird for a while - These are by digital artist Larissa Kulik - there are clear European surrealist elements in her work.

I was surprised that the women in the first seven pictures had shaved pubic hair

In most erotic pictures from that era, the women are NOT shaved. Perhaps this was a conscious decision by the photographer to make this pictures seem less "erotic"

Here are two examples of "erotic" photos from the 1930s; I appreciate their natural body look ;)

Without knowing the original photographer's intention it's difficult to say - but I would have thought that they were retouched to hide the pubic hair to make the images more "classical" (in the way that 19th century artists used classical themes of nude and semi-nude women) - in the other pics the pubic hair is clearly visible

Here are some more from the same series

Not art by any means, but similar to the French classification of female pubic hair. ;)

Probably from the 1950s.

We haven't had anything Victorian for a while - and they don't come much more Victorian then John William Waterhouse - the first is one of my all time favourite paintings (even went to Manchester to see the original) - Hylas & the Nymphs - with a couple of close of nymphs - plus some other works by him. Get your culture fix here.
