A sort of explanation?

I agree, I think most men are puzzled and confused by many things that the women in their lives do! (and probably vice-versa).

From some of the videos and reports of WNBR (especially in London) I have seen, the stress factors, especially for women, are:
- surrounded and mobbed by large numbers of gawping, CLOTHED men photographers, sometimes blocking their way.
- only the women, especially the younger ones, being photographed - the 90%? of men largely ignored
- posting of photographs on porn sites, cropping of pictures to focus on vulva, labia and nipples make those women feel reduced to wank material by all and sundry rather than only those men they (sometimes) want to see them that way. Most did not undress in public for my pleasure.

Yes, it's inconsistent and naive - but many men will give lots of examples in their everyday lives which are nothing to do with WNBR. This is more about feelings than "reason".

Being naked is to be vulnerable - women feel more vulnerable than men in potentially sexualized situations - women are more afraid of **** than men. Put most women under stress and expect sex, co-operation or niceness - you'll be lucky.

My suggestion to WNBR photographers (based on the comments of the more successful photographers) is:
- be naked and show solidarity
- be nice
- ask permission
- try not to act like a creepy perve
- remember they are "doing you a favour" - you have no right to expect any woman to undress for your pleasure - be grateful when it happens - don't scare them off!

The behaviour of many photographers (hopefully not those on OCC) is killing the "goose that lays the golden eggs" - on beaches too. People sometimes ask where is eg the Barclays Librarian from a few years ago - I suspect that her "fan club" has frightened her off.

Some good thoughts there. I personally know quite a few riders, including a "forum favourite" who has not ridden recently because she found obsessive discussions about her on the internet extremely creepy.

WNBR Manchester 2015

This was the WNBR in Manchester in 2015. The pics are screendumps from Hillbilly's YouTube video. If you compare the pictures you will find the same girl wearing a grey cap backwards with bikini top on near the start and bikini top off later on. Based on newspaper articles which are still to be found on Google I gather that she was a supermarket assistant from Burnage. I'll refrain from posting her name on here but her quote in all the articles is “I started wearing a bikini top but then I just ended up taking it off.” And you can Google that if you are so inclined.

Except that if you are an older guy and are naked but not wheeling a bike around it will look a little creepy. Not sure if all the girls would prefer photogs to be naked. Older guys I think would do best to adopt the "respectable photographer" look - clothed, nice gear, polite, competent. With younger guys, this isn't an issue.

Older men walking around WNBR's naked but without bikes can become the object of scorn. I've seen it happen.

Quite right Davidavin!

My lack of clarity - I should have said: show solidarity by RIDING A BIKE naked ie join in the spirit of WNBR as a participant not a spectator.
