And so it was written, that when nigh five years had passed since the date of their first appearing nude on OCC, so they would return to its digital pages, in zeroes and ones, and a splash of red paint, and some running shoes, and naught else, as a beacon of hope, these red racers, as a reminder to us all, to keep checking back.
Edit: If you have no idea what I'm talking about, check the first post of this thread. The second photo of them popped up in 2009, and was posted on the last page. There's also a post somewhere in there with some lower-res videos of them running around. It's an awesome story: instead of running the race, they just got naked, and ran up and down the street distracting the elite international runners. They seem to have disappeared by the time the casual runners (and the folks carrying cameras made it to that point), as pics of them are rare gems. |
Holy crap
wow. I guess I can't run for president anymore... this is me!!!! I can't believe 5 years later I find myself on some obscure blog post, just because I feel there's nothing shameful about the naked body. what's weird is that my best friend (the naked guy in the photos) got NO MEDIA coverage whatsoever... what an interesting world we live in.
The craigslist post was not a hoax, that was me, only because my parents (as awesome as they are) wanted some pictures for their photo album (hard core SF hippies!!!). This takes me back a while... Love the bay area! this kind of freedom exists no where else I know of!!! PS. Where did you get the pre party pictures? only 2 people had copies of those.... myself and 'walker'.... |

Wow... this is just surreal... finding this post 5 years too late! I'M THE 'ESCHER' REDHEAD in a great number of posts with by best friend, and what's funny is that in the majority of pics I have on my computer, guys are climbing all over me and gesturing towards my 'lady parts.' And yet, in most of these pics, the guys I was posing with (notably my best naked friend with the sax on his back) were cropped from the photos!!! dudes love to pose with naked girls just as much as chicks like to pose with naked guys, the problem is, apparently no one wants to see the guys!!! I like this site because it's not insulting the girls for being naked, we're not objectified, just appreciated and maybe oggled a bit (thats OK, we're used to it), but I like flanker7's point that if it weren't for the naked guys, us naked girls would be fewer and farther between.... just saying! |

Since the 2008 BtoB red runner pic in post no 1 is one of the most famous and talked about public nudity pics in the world (OK, at least here at OCC), that makes you, snowpeas, a public nudity superstar of the highest rank. :) I bow in eternal humbleness to your spirit and am honored to have you here at OCC. OK, now I have to go back and do some homework because 2008 was a long time ago. Flanker7 I'm sure can fill me in. But the famous red runner pic was discussed at length and I don't see all of the discussion that I remember here in this thread. I debated whether this was a corporate public relations stunt. I wondered why the girl on the left was half cropped out (to focus more attention on the "autodesk" logo?). And then I wrote the guy that actually took the pic. He is or was a Flickr user and a local photojournalist. He said he just got lucky. No set up or corporate gimmick in otherwords. But anyway, we needn't debate this any more. we have one of the red girls right here at OCC. I think I posted this pic in my top 100 public nudity pics of all time thread. Pretty sure. So now if snowpeas wants to sit back and do a bit of reminiscing, I'm sure we would all love to hear the story of how this and the other pics came to be. So back, back we go to 2008.:) I was still a young lad then, but the memory now is fading...:) And on the eve of BtoB 2013 (less than two weeks away), there is no better time for a look back.... EDIT: Flanker7 - I didn't realize this was your first ever thread at OCC! KLondike |
and let me also add - there is no greater reward for a photographer or poster of pics here than to actually get a chance to talk to a girl in a photo. And then for the photo to be so well known as well - this is very special to all of us. You really have to credit the mods too in this case as their efforts in maintaining an environment here that is respectful of women is what helps makes it possible for this type of meeting to occur.

Snowpeas, thanks for coming forward, thanks for being so cool about finding yourself posted here, and most of all thanks for getting naked and posing for pictures 5 years ago. Just to respond to a few things that came up in yours and Klondike's posts above:
First off, I'm glad that you "get it." This is the only "adult" forum I participate in, and it's only because the general tone is respectful and appreciative of female beauty, rather than exploitative and misogynistic. There are threads here that veer toward the dark side--I won't lie--but for the most part the public nudity threads keep it positive. There's some alchemy of physical beauty, lack of inhibition, and joie de vivre that I and others on this board find utterly fascinating, and OCC is a great place to explore that interest. Simply put, we just think it's awesome that there are pretty girls like you that enjoy getting naked, and that you yourself are awesome for doing so. Secondly, about the "pre-party" pics... I found those in a public picasaweb album a couple days after the event. I assume either your or "Walker" posted them there. The album was gone (or invisible) a couple days later. No invasion of privacy was intended, since they were posted and searchable. You don't seem to bothered by their presence here, so hopefully they can remain. Thirdly, Klondike I think you're confused about who snowpeas is. She is NOT one of the "red racers" posted above. She's the red-haired girl that walked the B2B nude with her male friend, posed for a ton of pics, did a naked kegstand, and just generally appeared to have had a fabulous naked Sunday. As far as I'm concerned, she's pretty much the #1 rockstar of B2B since we started posting pics. Lastly, snowpeas, I hope you've gotten a kick out of finding that you're a celebrity on our little corner of the internet, or at the very least you've found some fun pics of yourself here that you haven't seen before. And should you feel inclined to... ahem... return the favor, don't be shy about posting pics you might have that we don't! I promise they will be greeted appreciatively and enthusiastically. |

But yeah, snowpeas is still a superstar. BTW - I've been off line for three weeks and this is my first time back at OCC. I felt a kind of dementia trying to recall all of this, and so I hope you will pardon my mistake. Picture me looking at the pic you posted of the two red racers, and trying to determine which of them is a redhead! From there, I went "and then where is the Escher part?" On her headband????? Klondike |
[QUOTE=snowpeas;1498274].' Snowpeas, May I salute you, you are a superstar. There was a feminist theory in the seventies about the 'male gaze', about which I forget all the details but it's the "concept of men as watchers and women as watched" (according to 'finallyfeminism101.wordpress'), which, cultural or inherited seems to have a degree of truth about it(i'm not an expert on websites of salacious pleasure for the female, but I would bet that the number catering to men outweighs them). I am pretty sure that your fella has appeared, with your good self cut out, on a couple of sites that seem to be aimed at the gentlemen whom prefer gentlemen market, which equally enjoys such events. But again still gentlemen.... mraeneas |
Flanker7: Obviously I have no problems with the pre-party pics, I probably wouldn't have done it if I wasn't. I don't actually think I have the originals, so it's nice to find them here... along with many others I hadn't seen before. I have sent them on to my mother. I'll check to see if I can find the originals of the pre party on an old computer, if I do I'll see if there are any you haven't posted and add them.
Mraeneas: Good point about my 'fella.' I guess I'm probably not looking in the right places ;) Although I personally think the pictures look better with the both of us, then I don't look like some random naked chick in a sea of clothed people... I grew up in SF and had done many B2B's before, but 2008 was my first naked one. I went naked again in 2009 with a different fella, but we dropped out of the race after only 1 hour because of some rude remarks that put us off. I went back to SF last year only to discover that they have now banned nudity in public... I hope there is an exception for B2B! I'm planning on moving back to the US next year, and would love to do it again, though not sure the husband is too keen on it (though he has seen the photos). Anyway, keep up the good work, thanks for reminding me that nudity can be celebrated tastefully! Snopeas |

Incidentally you might be interested to look at the 'The Ladies of OCC' sub forum and if you find it appealing then I think you can get a free pass to the rest of the forum. |

On the subject of B2B nudity, you are correct in guessing there is an exception for B2B. When the ordinance passed last year, it included an exemption for festivals where nudity was historically allowed: B2B, Folsom Street Festival, Pride, etc. |

Nudity okay at Bay to Breakers
You had me confused, Klondike. Snowpeas was one of the girls all covered in red paint? Not what I was thinking. So I checked again, saw that the girl I pegged as snowpeas was easily identifiable as a redhead (her head hair!), was accompanied by a male friend as suggested in her posts, and — this was the big clue — was covered in Escher-esque lizards. Not that we need an excuse to see the two red girls again; they're always welcome.
Snowpeas, according to HuffPo, a nudity exception has been made for Bay-to-Breakers (and other events). Participants can be naked. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0...=San+Francisco |

and on the eve of BtoB 2013, i'm still thinking about Snowpeas and her remarks about how if it weren't for the naked men, the naked women would be much fewer and far between..
I guess thats because I usually assumed that its was the presence of other women that made them more comfortable about taking it off, not other men so much. But thats more the nude beach scene, i think. So maybe this is why we never see any all girl sorority naked runs... Maybe Snowpeas could explain to me why in recent years the Fremont ridership has been 60-65% women...:) It does fascinate me, the idea of lots of women wanting to get naked in public without the presence of men or comparatively few men. Its pretty rare, but it DOES seem to happen more often when paint jobs and fashion statements are being made at the same time. Anyway, time to close out another BtoB thread and open a new one. We'll see if the SF nudity ban got enough people angry enough to want to show up naked at BtoB just to protest. Here's your chance to express your views... klondike |
