Thanks. Many of these were heat-damaged, and the restoration is slow. But, I'm getting there!

For anybody else who might be smitten with this thread -as I certainly am- our colleague Marlboro has posted a few video clips from a retro NAP down in the video section. A direct link:

Two contests, actually: one from Naked City (I think) where a bunch of nudist ladies take part in "Ms. Nude California" which includes a question and answer section. It's kinda cute. The other clip set is from NAP -looks like late 70's, early 80's maybe. Starts with the intro portion, where the host introduces each lady. Based on this pic thread, I was surprised that an overwhelming majority of the girls are dancers - one is introduced as a "dental assistant" and one as a "secretary;" the rest all have club affiliations. But even the strippers just carry a different vibe than "entertainers" do today. Much sweeter, much cuter, much more real. Crap. Now I'm all nostalgic for the old days. Again! :( |

So sorry I hadn't replied earlier, I had no idea this thread was still alive and you had been posting your updates. I happen to find the thread revived while doing a search on my phone. As a Resident of Indiana most of my life, minus 4 years in Virginia, and a huge fan of Nudes-A-Poppin I've always thought and hoped I'd see someone I knew or know. Even myself in the later years. But so far no luck. ( Have had to blow up and enhance a couple of shots and take second or third looks at a few pics though.) Good reason to ask you all to continue your restoration efforts. I know it's not easy, but much appreciated by most of us even if we don't' say thanks very often. Thanks again!! |

Dick Drost closed NCLA in Hemet probably at least 10 years ago. He moved to Palm Springs, he had a small naked city operation in his back yard, but I think he does not even do that. He was in a wheel chair the last time I saw him at NCLA, again, at least 10 years ago. NCLA was freaky.

What a wonderful thread! Does anybody have more of this girl? I shot it with a Canon AE-1 back in 81' or 82'. I have a few more of her. I only went 1 year to Naked City/Dick Drost's place. The sight of some of those people with .357's & .44's freaked me out. When I lived in Indy, I came up in the 90's and video-taped about 5 events @ Ponderosa, which was far more superior to what I saw @ Naked City. I have some decent 35mm images from Ponderosa also, but it was a dark day & some are under exposed. I will try & learn how to take the video, which is now on DVD's and turn them in to WMV's. It was fun to go back to the strip clubs in Indy after Ponderosa & tell the babes how they looked up @ Ponderosa - all in the buff & how you like the color of her pubes. More later!

This was another 1 of this young beauty. Compared to the others that participated, she had no competition. I saw other images from Ponderosa circa this time where Hyapatia Lee finished 1st & this 1 was clearly the beauty of the day @ Ponderosa. Any fills?

This 1 had an incredible bush. Followed Drost around in his wheel chair that day. Had way too much lense on a Canon AE-1 with a 2-X multiplier and a 100-300 zoom. Hated the guns that were displayed by a # of scum-bags.

Dark Hair-ed beauty that "won" the event I was at. She had a beautiful bush! Better looking in person than on film. She is also in some vintage images of Nudes-a-Poppin at Roselawn, IN when Hyapatia Lee "won" that year. They had the white cow-boy hats on in that contest. I have it some where. She was somewhat difficult to get a clear shot at during the event as I re-call. Any fills or additions for this beauty? anybosy else remember her when they were there????

This 1 won at Naked City the year I was there. [81'-82'-ish] I have a few more to post. She was stunning. On a side note, there were two other buddies, both experienced 35mm photographers who got some other great shots in addition to mine. 1 "buddie" that was with us asked them to loan him their negs and prints so he could get copies of Naked City done for himself & eventually pitched the entire collection because he was going to have brain surgery and in case of bad result didn't want his family to find his porn stash. About 8 - 10 rolls of slides & negs GONE! I do good work with a camera and these two did very good work also!!! What a loss! More later!
