It shows, in the photos for sure that participation demographics were much shallower. Since I have been following, 2010 or so, there was a major contingent of youth, as they are most likely to buck at authority and be adventurous. But it seems very few <18-25 yr old participated. This event was supposed to be fun, get people involved, bring awareness to and advocate for green energy. Now it seems like the message is being lost. Just my 2 cents

I'm not sure what you hope to achieve by naming her (and others) with her full name. I don't think she's going to calm down by being contacted by annoyed OCC members. Hopefully admins can delete this post, or at least the names in it.

She put her name out there as official WNBR Brighton organiser in a public forum. As did Chris Hermon. Do I get a hint that now the shit has hit the fan with regard them killing the Brighton ride that people are getting a bit twitchy?

I don’t think it’s that. I think it’s just that in almost all cases this forum is about sharing and consuming content, on threads that will be around for years. One reason this forum has lasted so long, rarely even having much drama, is because we don’t really use this forum to bring grief to anyone, even if they deserve it. When I read your earlier post I thought you had totally valid complaints and I didn’t notice anything wrong with the post, but now that Laylak pointed it out, it does seem out of place to see the full names. I don’t think it’s that big a deal because I don’t think most people here are likely to harass anybody, but the names also don’t add anything for this forum’s purposes.

As always thanks for your outsized contributions. You always have among the very best quality photos we see in any given year. And I think your post was made without ill intent. I just think Laylak has a point that naming names, here, doesn’t add much and doesn’t fit in with the ways we normally use this forum.

Speaking of cockcage, I logged into Flickr after a very long hiatus and I received about 20 messages from this guy asking me to remove photos of him because people at his work and his family found out.

I was asked by a forum member who the new organisers were and told him. This is public information. If the mods have any issue with my posts, I'm sure they'll edit or remove them. In recent years I've rarely passed comment on the various rides. I only did so this time because I was so dismayed to see what was once among the very best WNBRs in the world reduced to a toxic and mostly male event at which the participants were made to feel far more uncomfortable in Preston Park by the organisers than they ever were by so-called nuisance photographers.

This forum is here primarily for the sharing of media, so I'll shut me beak now and get on with uploading some more snaps from last weekend to Flickr.

Great first post, but tough luck landing the last post on a page. Might get fewer thanks than you would have.

If it does turn out your post gets edited or removed, don't take it the wrong way. Some of the Flickr photographers ask that people don't repost their pictures here. I've been following the WNBR threads closely for over 12 years and I can't remember which photographers ask that, so there's no way someone new would know. As long as the photos you post aren't watermarked, you're doing your part.

I agree with what everyone else has been saying about the ride, a very poor turnout and overall it felt like a very hostile environment.

Any suggestions?

I've got 2 hours of downloading before I'll know for sure nothing went wrong, but the Video DownloadHelper plugin on Firefox seems to be working. When you hit the button on the toolbar, it shows about 6 different options for videos you can download, and the one on the bottom, which shows "youtube.com/watch?v=1LDFPT39bY4" instead of the title of the video, is the one that's 1080p and working. I was able to download a New Orleans video this way yesterday and it turned out fine, though it was much shorter.

I like what I've seen of this video so far.

Yes, Video DownloadHelper did the job on the 1080p version.

EDIT: just realized you were asking about downloading versions above 1080p, even though the one that's up there now only goes to 1080p... I haven't had an issue with 4k and Video DownloadHelper before, but can't check yet if it works on the one that's still being processed. But these posts may be pointless.

Yes, but I think the incident where she was persuaded to go full monty was staged, by all accounts. Despite his repeated requests to all manner of us who have uploaded his snaps in the past, Mr Willy Scaffold was once again present last weekend, just wearing a black mask, as if that might allow him to fly under the radar :rolleyes:

I strongly suspect the lady in question has an angle. When you've done these rides for a while, you realise that a large percentage of those attending having an angle. Frequently related commercial adult media. Which is absolutely fine but it does make the ridiculous anti-snapper propaganda seem somewhat hypocritical...

Indeed, she seems pretty cool, a good presence on any ride. I have some nice video of her at the end of the Brighton ride, as she seemed quite happy to hang around.

I hope it's not wishful thinking clouding my judgement, I'm sure a lot of people enjoyed seeing a rider go through this experience. I completely get where you're coming from though, I'm just wondering, is there any smoke on that front for this particular rider? I would have assumed it would be common knowledge here if that were the case, seeing as she is well recognised now.

As discussed Brighton seems to have fallen, so naturally we won't have an abundance of decent coverage, but if it's okay to focus on the few who did make it worth it then I'll add more. If these caps are too samey please let me know and I won't post like that in future :) As I said, I don't think we're working with a lot here haha (also sorry they are only video caps, I decided one or the other and video seemed the best to maximize capturing the moments)

But still, thank you to all the confident ladies who attended, you all made a lot of effort to be there, and given the awful circumstances surrounding the organising of the event you are doubly applauded!

This is outside the starting "enclosure", she seemed to be being interviewed by a fully clothed person, speaking directly into his phone microphone to be recorded (she wasn't being video recorded by them). She was wearing just a thong during this (she removed her skirt while her partner was speaking into the journalist's phone first). Unfortunately I didn't see her remove her thong but she wasn't in it that long at all compared to some of the others who would remove them literally as they signal the start of the ride.

I thought I'd share another shot of me that was taken at the start of the ride just after all the riders had left :)
I wasn't able to take part in the actual ride this year, but I still wanted to be at the start just for the chance to be naked in public without any worries ;)
Judging by everyone's comments and the general atmosphere on the day I'm really glad I didn't take part now, but still very happy to be able to pose for the cool and friendly photographers at the start. I noticed a few people, in an attempt to not get caught by the marshals, trying to take some sneaky shots beforehand, though whenever I noticed this I always tried to give a reassuring smile to let them know I didn't mind. It was nice to see once all the riders had left that the photographers were a lot more comfortable with photographing me :)

I saw you there and it was obvious you were happy to pose for snappers, as were a number of others. But with the wee fella attempting to get anyone who took pictures arrested if he spotted them, most of us decided that taking more than the odd picture in Preston Park just wasn't worth the hassle. The man was totally unreasonable, despite the police telling him that people are free to take pictures and shoot video in public places, which he should know as a pro snapper. Be thankful you weren't on the ride.
