I saw the contest. It was probably the hottest collection of women that have ever competed overall and more contestants than usual too. But that last year they changed the side of the pool from which the stage jets out. This produced no noticeable effect last year because it was cloudy during the contest, but with the sunny skies this year it cast a really nasty shadow right in the area where the girls walk out. That was compounded by the prohibition against "big cameras" that they at least pretended to enforce earlier in the day and the fact that almost all of the pool ledge real estate was "VIP". I took a few pics, but wasn't in a great position relative to the shade and was too drunk to really notice or take measures to improve my lie any.

I agree - the pool party at Dantes sucked. With the entire pool perimeter roped off for VIPS you couldn't move. And even though I left my SLR in the hotel, I saw several SLRs with telephotos.
