I made a ZIP of everything that's been released so far (minus one watermarked pic*) of my first favorite girl from this year, currently appearing as my avatar. I'm calling her the Cardiff Cutie AKA Green Ribbon Girl.

That has to be one of the best WNBR photo sets EVER! Before/after body painting, posing with fat guys and playing in the water! Not to mention the close up handstand shots, can't remember the saving trick, but THEY ARE worth saving!

I forgot.. sorry. The emotion :D

Thank you very very much to all the contributors.

I have trucks more, how should I post them?
I can post them in bunches of 10, or should I zip them?

I will also try to sort them?

... and time is running out !

Oh, BTW, can the London members please make sure to cover several starts. i.e. don't all go to Hyde Park Corner. There are always loads of HPC pics and precious few from THE OTHER FIVE START POINTS !!!

And I heard that there will be two "return rides" at the end (!)

It doesn't bode well for London. They're scrapping the previous catch up stop points and also the Forum Magnum Square rest stop in favour of a so-called rolling ride. Which essentially means the rides are supposed to come together without the need for stopping and waiting for others to join. Should mean the main ride is going slower...but no idea how it might pan out.

The problem with covering the other starts is that not only are they smaller (much smaller, with the exception of Regents Park, which is still way down on the numbers you get at Hyde Park), it's more difficult to get from them to the main route. For example, West Norwood to Lincoln's Inn Fields is over 7 miles. If you're on foot, there's no way you're going to make up that distance.

Every year after the ride, various of us who snap this event say that next year we'll arrange it so that someone covers each start...but it never happens. I wish they'd kept the old format of everyone leaving together. Hyde Park will always be the focus for the majority of snappers because there are so many more people there than elsewhere.

It's true that there are two return rides this time. Whether these will be big is anyone's guess. Would suggest not but only time will tell.

I should be in Central London on Saturday, I only have my iPhone but am happy to take some pics and share them on here afterwards.

If I can only be in one place, which is the best place to be? I'm thinking Westminster Bridge (or just after?) or Lincoln's Inn Fields? I've heard its a 'rolling start' so there won't be as many 'stops' for others to catch up this year so I want to be in the best place possible...

Filming The Naked Bike Ride Part 1 - London

I have filmed 6 rides, London, Bristol & Brighton in 2013 & 2014.

I shall start with the London Rides;

Prior to 2013 it was one big ride and in 2012 it was a nightmare, everyone got held up, it progressed at a snail's pace and people started going home. In 2013 they took the (good) decision to split the rid einto 5 starts.
In 2014 an extra start was included at Tower Hill.

My filming in 2013 was more successful than 2014 because I was chasing the ride a bit in 2014.

In both 2013 & 2014 I started at Marble Arch/Hyde Park.

Here's what happened in 2013;

The WNBR did not have access to Hyde Park due to a Trades Union Demo, so everyone was crammed into the Marble Arch area.

14:10 I proceeded to Marble Arch but taking a short cut I walked straight into the 'secret' body painting area what a HUGE piece of luck. I hung around and walked with then to Marble Arch.
14:35 Arrived with the body painted cyclists at Marble Arch. It was chaos, I believe they left late and indeed the cyclists were right at the back of the ride looking through later footage.
14:40 I take the decision to walk to Piccadily Circus (quite a long way).
15:25 The cyclists are arriving at Piccadily Circus but stop at Haymarket, the group at the front appear to be from the Kings Cross Start. I move on along the route whilst they are staionary.
15:38 The cyclists are now going down Whitehall past the Earl Haig Monument.
15:48 The cyclists are now on Westminster Bridge.
16:00 The cyclists are stopped on Belvedere Road.
16:07 The first cyclists start to ride over the southern end of Waterloo Bridge.
16:29 The last cyclist leaves the northen end of Waterloo Bridge.
16:49 I'm at Lincoln's Inn Fields but I am chasing the ride at this point.
16:56 The last cyclist leaves Lincoln Inn Fields.
17:29 I arrive at Wellington Arch but I have messed up badly and got there late, cyclists are still arriving however.
18:01 The party's over and I go home.

Here's what happened in 2014;

The WNBR paid the authorities £600, for that they got access to Hyde Park (North Carriage Drive) and the Police opened the gates and stopped the traffic.

14:09 I arrive, the secret body painting area had very few people of little interest so I don't bother, lots of people with cameras sculking around, they are unpleasant to the riders IMHO and the whole thing is somewhat unedifying.
14:28 The cyclists run the gauntlet of the snappers and start to line up.
14:40 The cyclists are lined up and look ready to go, I depart for Piccadily Circus, I assume they left earlier than 15:00.
15:02 The first Hyde Park cyclists are at the corner of Albemarle Street and Piccadily.
15:15 The cyclists are going down Haymarket and I have screwed up badly, I am now chasing the ride.
15:23 The cyclists from Tower Hill (I think) arrive at the roundabout by Trafalgar Square from Northumberland Avenue.
15:32 The cyclists are already on Westminster Bridge, it is utter chaos, the pavements are blocked I cannot get past. The ride is way ahead of 2013.
15:43 The cyclists are already at Forum Magnum Square, I believe some are still arriving from other start points.
16:06 The first cyclists start to ride over the southern end of Waterloo Bridge.
16:21 The cyclists are still on Waterloo Bridge, now I head towards Lincoln's Inn Fields.
16:31 Arrive Lincoln's Inn Fields, very much chasing the ride at this point.
16:46 Most cyclists are leaving Lincoln's Inn Fields.
17:15 First cyclists 'arrive' at Hyde Park, except they don't the snappers are blind sided and they go to a different place.
17:29 The party's over and I go home.

So if I can only be on one place, where would you recommend?
Last year I was on Westminster Bridge and it was great because it stopped there for a while, but I'm not convinced that'll happen again this year. Is Lincons Inn Fields better? Or maybe it's possible to get from Westminster to Lincons Inn Fields and do both (it looks about 10mins or so on 2 tubes).
