can't afford the designer and lastly just to check
it is virus free right?

fighter4life 03-10-2012 09:18 AM

if you think you can handle it I may be willing to make a 15 dollar donation for it but you will have to put in the work

I have no idea if it's virus-free, but I do know that it'd be bad for his business if it did have a virus.

All in all, it seems legit. I'm not sure what features the paid version has, but you may not need them.

wildfang95 03-11-2012 11:29 PM

hmm....i guess you're right, okay we won't buy the full version unless we need to, but give me a day or so to research it a little

wildfang95 03-15-2012 07:04 PM

i've done research on it and it seems like it's what they use to make GTA but umm i kinda imagined it being more like cross edge......
umm but if you guys don't mind i guess i could give it a try(it won't come out like i wanted though)
Also can somebody talk to Jules for me, he won't talk to me no matter what.

Thanks for listening!

Derelict 03-16-2012 06:10 PM

I don't want to be negative, but I'm gonna level with ya...

This project made it much, much farther than I would have guessed. There were ideas, but those are a dime a dozen. To make a computer game, you need action... Specifically, action from a programmer! We have (had?) an artist here who produced images for free, but we don't know how or if the illustrations can be used in the game's framework. So many unknowns...

My suggestion? Scrap all of this and focus on making a simple "pen-and-paper" RPG which could be overseen by a "game master." There would be no worries about programming or begging for artwork. Just imagination and some typing skills! It could be a fantasy setting, sci-fi setting, of even something like DQ's "Mischievous Breeze" series...

What do you think? Anybody?

cerindclvr 03-17-2012 03:26 AM

I am intrigued by this idea, Derelict. What kind of system were you thinking... something manually 'run' for certain people or like one of those old text based computer rpgs..?

Derelict 03-17-2012 10:40 AM

Obviously, there's room for adjustments, but it would be "run" by a game master who would judge and describe the outcome of the players' actions. It would be a back and forth storytelling between player and game master.

To make it interesting, there could be "classes" and dice rolls for "skills" or abilities.

I started formulating something like this on a different forum, but there was no interest. Players would be ghosts who would strip their targets. BUT, it could be adapted to a different setting, I'm quite sure.

Meepo 03-17-2012 06:00 PM

Derelict: Meepo the Kobold approves of this idea. An ENF-styled pen-and-paper RPG could be interesting, if done well - but it would require some careful deliberation to make it appeal to more broad tastes. Of course, the original idea of a computer RPG here is really cool too (I would play it), but as you say, it's easier to write than it is to grind the gears of programming.

I once toyed with the idea to write a pen-and-paper style RPG based on a panty fighter like Variable Geo, where fighters strip each other as part of the battle. It would be weird, but it could be kind of cool.

cerindclvr 03-17-2012 08:29 PM

what kind of chat platform or IM program would be best suited to it? one with dice rolling capacity, I imagine..?

Derelict 03-18-2012 11:31 PM

I would just adapt it to a forum model rather than a chat. It will allow people to play when they have time. Like I said, it will be some back and forth creative writing.

Meepo 03-19-2012 07:27 AM

Forum model is probably better, yeah. It could run off a dice system (some forums have dice rollers, or can have them plugged in), or it could run off some kind of a karma system - although less randomness is not very fun. Make a basic list of Attributes or skills, rate them from say, 1-6, do some dice voodoo, and then get to the fun bit of tinkering - clothes instead of Hit Points is one possible mechanic, or some kind of penalty for being under- or overdressed. It depends on what your design goal is, really. Does a girl lose by being stripped, and if so, what happens when you lose?

If there's interest, I would be on board with writing something like this. I don't know a lick of programming, but I'm pretty experienced with tabletop games.

New Subject

Hey guys i just wanted to say that this new idea is a good way to go (it's easier on me anyway)
I waited to see the feedback of it before joining in on the fun and asking if you want my assistance since this is derelict's idea i'll sit back and watch (unless ya want me to join) i would'nt mind helping especially considering how much help i got and the fact that i want to thank you guys.
Next point i like creative writing quite a bit but maybe we could still use images to help set the scene (I don't wanna jump the gun i just don't wanna waste the time and effort Jules put into his drawings).
Thanks for listening

Derelict 03-19-2012 11:48 AM

For reference, here's what I came up with on another forum (apologies if you can't see it without an account):

http://newpantsedgirls.5.forumer.com...?showtopic=601

I chose the idea of ghosts because of all the creative things you could do, but it could be revised to fit another setting. Using the ghost theme, enemies would be girls with psychic powers and rival spirits. Of course, like any pen & paper RPG, you can approach scenarios as you choose. The GM would do the die rolls to see if you succeed and describe how it all plays out!

Likey... No likey?

badguy69 03-19-2012 07:40 PM

RAGS is free or at least it was free download and fully usable so try it out. Its basically a graphic adventure story creator with multiple options items etc. It isnt a game designer its like one of those Fighting Fantasy books what will do now etc but with images and video use.

id say its perfect for what you want to do as RPG Maker is too much grind and too cartoony to be fully effective

Meepo 03-20-2012 12:27 PM

I thought through this a bit, and came up with a basic ruleset for a tabletop RPG based on our very own cerindclvr's Chronicles of Enferia.

It's five pages long thus far, so I think it demands its own thread - but just as a heads-up to those of you interested in that sort of thing, it has been composed.

fighter4life 03-23-2012 10:08 AM

Just thought Id add something to thought their aplha version is released you cant really do anything with it but it seems to be really heading along hope you wow junkies enjoy http://azerothica.com/

Why wasnt that game made!? both the one in this thread and the one on NPG, both sound amazing!!

Derelict 04-06-2012 10:24 AM

More people preferred the Enferia setting, and Meepo did a kick ass job of building a robust rule set.

Either way, I'm curious to see the debriefing (ha!) of the Enferia RPG because it's the first such RPG that I've seen successfully executed. Was it fun? How did the flow feel? Any way to improve the system, or is it just right?

gonsorry 04-07-2012 05:26 AM

Yes, a quite good variant

Game Idea

Alright then
So i'm quite sure that mostly everybody has figured it out but i don't think this game is gonna get any further, and its not just because of my sick leave (which has screwed me over time and again) but also cause i'm almost entirely sure Jules quit and i just haven't got the skills to get this thing running.
Whilst i know its sad to admit this, it can't be changed though i'm just glad my if my ideas have helped anyone :)
Anyway my final remark is that maybe if this game does ever get running maybe changing it to a different game would be better, so then i got an idea from the Clothes Encounters of the Bare Kind(C.E.B.K) done by Murperfleem maybe a streaking game where you are a girl and you get to get from A-B in 2-3 levels i imagine it being done kinda like the game Angel Girl, but with hiding instead of attacks and not being seen instead of f***ed (sorry just not sure about the censorship rules)
Lastly for those that know how to start this i would be glad to take your assisstance
For those that don't know Angel girl heres the link
