Thanks, Osreb - I'm trying to decide if these are models perhaps or if it is a genuine candid beach set. Its just one of those things I like to amuse myself with thinking about. I think its the latter, and kudos to the lucky photog that captured it. Possibly taken on that Russian pine beach...

And of course it is volleyball, not rugby, but I'm getting picky now, aren't I...?

Water Polo is an aggressive sport and I love it. It was once named one of the bloodiest sports in the Olympics because people would come out of the water with broken ribs, bleeding eyes, cheeks, face, and a host of other almost inconceivable injuries from what looks like on the surface a placid sport.

In reality it is a combination of swimming, soccer and basketball, plus wrestling, boxing and mugging. The players are phenomenal athletes who perform amazing feats of speed, grace, stamina and ball-handling. They also perform amazing feats of kicking, punching, scratching, biting, clawing and choking. And that's just the men. The women are also fond of tearing each other's bathing suits off.
and here some others i've found over the years

Thankyou sal32, I can never get enough of those water polo breast slips. :)

Too bad about the stupid hats. What the sport needs is a more exploitive version, like beach volleyball. It can be beach water polo, with bikinis, no stupid hats, etc.

The hats are necessary to cover the ears. If a ball hits your ear when there's water in it, your ear drum will likely rupture.

Then I say get rid of the ball, and the hats. My version will be played with a rubber penis, or something that does not hurt if you get hit in the ear with it.

man, what are water polo pics doing in this thread, anyway. :)

Its not the sport, its the meaning of the phrase "in the buff" or "played in the buff". These are accidents. Accidents are "accidental nudity". Playing a sport "in the buff" is intentional nudity, in essence a "spirit of naturism" thing.

I am going to make some people here take a remedial course in "the classification of the nudes"

:D

Does it have to be competition, or does athletics/exercise count? How about ones where there seems to be a competition (the old color nudists), but you can't figure out what the rules are? Getting ready to exercise (windsurfer)? Posing by the exercise mats (group shot)? And if yoga/stretching are okay, there's more...
