Katie Lushington nervously controls her breathing in a slow, even rhythm. Her palms are sweaty, even though the cluttered
classroom feels cold.

"You cannot let them know that you're scared," she tells herself.

She takes off her shirt, her back to a roomful of students who stare at her over large wooden easels.

There's nothing to hide behind as she stands on a 1-foot-high platform at the front of the classroom.

The professor allows her to turn around, little by little, until she faces the students, who are already busy sketching her.

"I was petrified, but since he slowly had me move around, it wasn't as horrifying as I thought it would be," Lushington
said, describing her first experience as a nude model for the art department's figure drawing class.

But that was more than one year ago. Now the 19-year-old Lushington sees nude modeling as not just a job, but a form of
artistic expression and a way to meet people.

Thanks for the stories soulac. I had an ex girlfriend who used to pose nude for art classes when she was in her early 20s. She did it for extra money. She didn't tell me much about it, but it was a turn on thinking about her doing it.
