my past videos on vimeo have disappeared, but i just went back... they have a total 500mb allowance for an account's videos. this clip alone is 12.5 gigabites :(

i am not sure how videos here work? i understand the need to monetize, but i want to post videos so that others can see them, .... it looks like i wouldn't even be able to view the videos myself, here!

For large files it can be very unwieldy to serve them. I agree that not many people would see it if you just posted in the video section. If you want to share with people here, my recommendation would be create a link at gofile.io - they allow temporary unlimited uploads. So your file will be deleted after a couple of days, but everyone who downloads it can see it and share it.
