The painting party was very lively this year. It is a little difficult to shoot because it is on private property and permission must be obtained before taking photos. Photographers must be invited and in the past some have been asked to leave for violating the rules.

The parade was a little disjointed due to more than 1,000 cyclists showing up, not all of them member of the Solstice Cyclists group that hosts the riders. There were numerous bumps and spills during the many laps that the cyclists made. The event is growing in popularity which may be a problem in the future.

Here are some more snaps from the painting party.

It's going to have to be original pics that keep this thread alive, as flickr and other sites aren't being mined (or aren't producing pics) like in the past. But I think the best stuff is still getting posted. Marginal web pics I can take or leave.

Anyway, Willie-t you have indeed been a stellar contributor this year. Many thanks for your efforts. When I get back to portland next week, I can get more of my own up. We're not dead yet, not till fall usually.

Flickr (aside from OCC) has always been my go-to source but I've noticed a definite decline in quality this year for both WNBR and (especially) Solstice Parade photos. I don't know if it's just that so many people these days use their phone for photography or if better photographers are shifting to different platforms but it's quite noticeable.

I'll be back in the PacNW tomorrow and I'll start my mining ways again. Usually there's an odd awesome fine here and there in obscure galleries.

I sure hope this thread isn't dying.

Came across a SmugMug album by mjkpics. It appears to be recently posted, and I don't think I've seen any mention of it on this thread. All credit to the photographer.

Over 250 high-quality pics, including many beauties I hadn't seen before. This is a selection of just a few of my faves.:)

Some more lovelies that caught my eye.

These are from the same SmugMug album: mjkpics.smugmug.com/Events/Fremont-Solstice-Parade-2105/
All credit to the photographer.

Check out the album for more great pics of the 2015 Solstice.

New, but watermarked gallery with a few decent ones:

And I want to offer my sincere apologies for posting any sub-par posts. I don't have the means to attend this event so I only try to offer thanks and appreciation to anyone that shares the pics. I wish they were all talented photographers but I guess I am just happy trying to find my favorite participants. I try to put an honest description in my posts but I can't help but have a deep appreciation for the participants in this parade. Again, I don't think of it as any thing less than a spectacular event that goes under represented.

I also apologize for posting links and not pictures. I am still trying to understand what is appropriate to "post" vs link. Perhaps some vets can give us insight? I don't want to violate anyone's copyrights but it seems some photogs don't mind?

I can't speak to the number of pics posted but I have followed this event for years and have never seen MORE riders, incredible women, or a better event than 2015. In the past there were handfuls, sometimes even groups. Now there are so many it is impossible to count. I discover new riders every single day and all of them beautiful in their own ways.

I can not think of many events where so many beautiful people have the confidence to say screw anyone that doesn't like it, it's sunny outside and let us celebrate. Fremont is a truly special place. It's a one of a kind event.

A sincere thank you to all the original posters, Klondike for capturing my favorite rider, and those who contribute great pics and for helping keep the thread going. Always looking forward to the next post.

OK, I take back what I said about quality being down this year :)

I found a few myself today, including one of the better shots of one of the barely-painted riders. In addition to these there are a few distant shots but unfortunately this is about it.

The photographer has hundreds of photos in his Flickr account but not in albums. I did a quick check by date for Solstice photos but didn't find anything else of interest, at least to me. He and his wife appear to be (older) nudists, though, so there may be something worthwhile to find.

Thanks for directing me to this new flickr album by SeaChiqui.
These are some pictures that were worth the wait. I really love this album!

I wish they weren't watermarked, so they could be posted here, but it's worth checking out on flickr.

:)There's a few lovelies that I don't think I had seen previously on this thread:
