She doesn't have a name per se, but I'v Christianed her "Miss Sweet Thang", and she's modeled on actress Morgan Fairchild.

I dunno...I think Miss Truth may be too much for CN...but that's just me...;)

DeNeesha looks a bit older than before. DeVonda (i think thats her name) seems unchanged except she looks rather pleased to see a naked lady.:eek:

The Morgan Fairchild thing's a relief, I was feeling REEEALLY perverted having a crush on a cartoon character - now I can just say I've got it about Morgan Fairchild! :)

And well, to tell you the truth her legs are on the fat side, and her head's kinda big for her body - and I can't understand a word she says into the bargain!

In case anyone's new to this thread, I'm talking about Machiko, who I discovered while lurking at this thread. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only ENF fan knocked out by this anime. Why couldn't we have had cartoons like this in the west when I was young?

Anyway, first a million thanks to darkwarriorofkane and others who posted the vids and caps, here and at youtube, that enabled me to get into this series. Also if someone wouldn't mind helping me out, a couple of questions from someone a bit new to such stuff:

(a) I'm pretty sure this puzzles any non-Japanese speaker who sees this strip. Just why is it that Machiko allows Tentako and the other kids to grope her boobies or flip up her skirt, seemingly whenever the mood takes them? She seems powerless to prevent it, neither does she seem to bear them any ill will. Obviously there's something I've missed just seeing the visuals and not being able to understand the dialogue.

(b) I'm also intrigued by the posture she adopts whenever someone does fondle her boobs, or rips off her swimsuit, or whatever - she sort of turns away from the perpetrator and kicks one leg into the air behind her. Is this some Japanese symbol for shame, or embarrassment, or modesty, or is there something else going on I'm too thick to understand?

Machiko being my most loved cartoon character, shes too nice to stop them completely and I didn't notice she was cross eyed... Tentako does get into trouble for it though every now and again but rarely.

Yeah, I definitely have interest, and if you hadn't bumped the thread I would have done. :) I guess I'm so gobsmacked by the whole concept, and just wish I could get English language translations. In fact, and I know this is kinda weird, I'm even interested in watching the non ENF episodes - just knowing that the central character is a girl who loses her clothes or gets upskirted so often makes it sexy in its own right.

My aim now is to try to work out bittorrent free section, so I can get some more. Anyone know of a discussion site for Machiko fans? It might help me puzzle out what's happening, general attitudes, etc.

As for the "posture" thing, I can't recall seeing any other Japanese girl do it - is it just Machiko, or is it a general symbol, I guess is what I was trying to ask.

Its actually quite good, I've watched all episodes from 1-50 and skimmed through the rest (didn't have time) but its really good because you end up putting together a background for people and you can figure out what they are saying. Some episodes ain't worth watching because the younger boys only get naked and it doesn't feel right. Although theres one episode where Tentako and Machiko are both naked in the bathroom and Machiko is very embarrassed and I mean very its pretty sexy.

Also the origins of the posture is not known to me, as far as I know its her trademark. So its just her, its on all the dvd of live action.

If there was a forum for machiko, it would be in japanese...

Yeah, unfortunately I have found that to be the case, A few sites out there, but navigating them is next to impossible as I don't speak Japanese. Was it you who first mooted the idea of a Miss Machiko fan club here? If so, count me in!

As for the relative "sexiness" of the different episodes, my main interest is old fashioned "cheesecake", ie inadvertant exposure of women, skirtblowing, etc, so for me personally sexual undercurrents (ie Tentako and Machiko naked together) isn't really necessary, except of course for her embarrassment. The Wikipedia entry about the strip clarifies that you are right - she's just too NICE to get the kids into trouble when they grope her. :)

What is it about schoolteachers that makes 'em so sexy? Ann Berrybush, Jessica Truth, Machiko Mai - and my own poor imitation, Kathlyn Corley - I'm sure some psychologist could explain it.

This site introduced me to Machiko the comic strip on this thread where she chases Tentako in a towel up the pole then he drops down and takes the towel leaving her naked. I'm sure someone was a bigger fan then me. The only thing missing from this site is the comics. All other machiko related material is posted here. So as for a fan club I didn't realise there was one but I guess I was always in it.
