Time to leave the stage
 

I suspect her husband controls the pictures. She likes the favorites and the comments; he doesn't like her exposure and shut it down. I think it was a smart. She could only show more skin or watch audience loses interest. Maybe that's not good for a relationship. She's was smart to quit while she was on top. The worst sin in any kind of entertainment is to be boring. Her own site was trending that way, and the photos her husband posts have become sinfully dull. She was wonderful, and lovely. She had a good sense of her audience, she knew how to be a star. And when she ran out of new ideas, she left. And by leaving when she did, she showed she has an excellent sense of timing. She will be missed.

all of the private photos on her account are now gone as well -- many of which could still be found (linked) on groups like Mr. Pasta. but even those have now been removed in the last month. very sad to see such a popular flickr regular almost disappear in a way ....

You need to go to her husband’s account in order to see her recent pics but don’t expect the same pics bear was posting in her account those days are long gone

If nobody went to her husband's account and his pic count dropped they'd maybe consider bringing her account back, but that wishful thinking. There's tons of guys on there drooling for anything he posts of her.

People have been trying to get Bear to pose nude ever since she's been on Flicker--probably over ten years. I doubt that's going to change. You can tell by her prior site that she has kids, and probably doesn't want them to run across pictures of mama in the altogether--or endure the harassment that they would get in school. That's a legitimate choice that we should respect--we don't have a right to see her in the buff. She and her husband are real people with real feelings and values, and we should respect the choices they make. They could probably pay off their mortgages if they did an Only Fans site with tasteful nudes of her. They know that and they don't. So they have limits, and we should respect them.
And I should note that I have respect for both of them as artists. I followed his site when it had only a few pictures of her because it had some really great artwork. He operates at a high level of talent, no matter what he does. And the photographs he shared on his wife's Flickr site were extraordinary--they transcended what everyone else was doing, and it gave her one of the largest fan bases on Flickr. It was (and probably still is) his superpower. The problem is that they were victims of their values, possibly their jealousies. Their work became stale and redundant--evolution into tasteful nudes was the logical next step that would have unleashed his creativty but at a cost. His latest photos of her, and of nature, still are. Everyone, including artists, fall into slumps, and they almost always come back strong. I'm sure he will.
I had some close friends--a painter and his wife. Not just a painter, but someone did bowls of fruit with the same artistic quality you see in museums. But for every bowl of fruit, there are hundreds of painted nudes. But his wife wouldn't let him paint nudes. So they starved, and he decided to quit painting and got the only job he could--at a fast food restaurant. Finally, it was too much for him, and he determined to paint nudes anyway. He wanted to be successful and be remembered as a great artist. She was happy to see him unhappy and willing for him to quit what he loved and live a miserable existence as long as he didn't paint nudes. (She was not willing to model for him und****d, or let him paint other und****d models.) Their marriage ended. She was too selfish to let him do the type of work all great artists do; he was selfish in that he put his art above his wife and family. It was an utterly stupid outcome.
I'm sure Bear's husband has extraordinary and tasteful nudes of her. But he does not publish them. Bear would hang prominently in and museum for photographic art and she and her husband would be remembered as great artists for hundreds of years, just like my friend's nudes are now in museums of contemporary art all over the world. But maybe that's not what they want. Alfred Steiglitz elevated both himself and his wife Georgia O'Keefe to master artists after the publication of his nudes of her. Although O'Keefe was a respected artist in her own right, her work as a model is still considered some of her greatest work.
But not every couple, even photographer and model, want to be a Steiglitz/O'Keefe team. I can't help but think of what could be, but it's not for me to decide.
