1. Are the Xingu women naturally hairless, or are they just really particular about shaving? waxing??

2. A few of the urban (non-native) white and black Brazilians go to the Xingu reservation to participate in the festivities as a kind of new age religion? Or just to get away?

3. I find it hilarious that the men are covered in big grass skirts (not that I want to see them!), but the women are showing *everything*

4. The youtube channels by the Xingu women are amazing. I'm not sure to what extent some Xingu still live on the reservation and carry on with the traditional way of life, but these women seem to have grown up "in town" and go back to their community to participate in the rituals/festivities. What I find really amazing and commendable is that these women who grew up with what we might say are almost global standards of covering up the B & B (and not to mention the P) are comfortable to show everything and have it be video taped. I really hope these folks continue and preserve their traditional ways. We don't have the bare breasted women pearl divers of Japan or countless other examples that could be named because the girls are too shy/shamed to do so now.

These wedding traditions are beautiful. The black shorts they are wearing are a happy compromise between tradition and modesty. :)

There's a show about German "Barbarians" in Roman times, and I believe there was a wedding scene in which the woman likewise had to be bare breasted indoors (the characters were otherwise fully covered at all times due to the cold climate).

Oh most of the wedding photos and barbarians post got re moved. I thought the context made it hotter but fine I'll limit it to just the main subject and crop out other shit. And I've seen movies/shows with natives posted here before but oh well.
