I wanna do this so bad, but I would have such a hard time holding down a boner with all those people watching me.

I wonder if that happens much or if it is accepted??

I've read that it happens quite a bit at the beginning of a session, then the nervousness/excitement wears down. It's accepted that it will happen, but you can't go jerking it or anything. I also read a story about a girl and her college class trying to get a male model hard by flashing/ not wearing panties. All in good fun.
