Would you guys mind reposting the avi.'s in wmv. format. It scrambles while trying to watch them on my player (both real & windows media). Thanks if you can!!

I'd like to second that request for .wmv format. I have downloaded the latest divX codecs, and have tried using every player I have, but for whatever reason certain .avi files refuse to play properly. All of the Britains wildest clips have been a problem for me. I would really appreciate an alternative file type.

Problems with AVI's
 

I use AVI's (DivX codec) because they give high quality video for a relatively small file size. If you are running a PC with Windows XP and the standard media player the DivX Pro 5.1.1 Codec should work. There are also versions that work with MAC's.

where a free copy of the codec (with adware) can be downloaded.

If you try to run the clips with an older version the avi will stick or hang halfway through.

It's well worth the effort as the high quality of DivX AVI's are far better than wmv's.

There are three columns where you can get Divx Pro or Dr. Divx and you either pay or get adware. Right under those three columns on the left hand side you can download JUST the codec for free (no adware).

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, they simply don't work for me (and apparantly some others). I am running Windows XP professional. I installed the codecs exactly as they were meant to be, and subsequently, most divX stuff plays fine for me. However, there is a small collection of .avi files encoded with divX that simply don't play properly. There's no real discernable pattern, other than they are all divX files.

'Britains Wildest' the TV show this thread was created for, ended last night. No new material shown, it was a compilation show of the previous episodes (just hate it when they do that). So I will not be posting any more material in this thread.

A converted clip
 

If you're like me and you have some issues with DivX files, you might want to consider converting the files once you've downloaded them. I've posted here one of the files that I've converted to mpeg using the methods described here:

Now, unfortunately, it's a very time-consuming process, and results in a larger file (for this file it took about 11minutes for the whole process, and I wasn't running anything else at the time). It's a bit of work, but for some of the smaller files it might be worth converting it.

On a side note, my issue with DivX is that, while I'm able to play the files, they're extremely choppy sometimes with long pauses in the video, or the video is very slow (but the audio keeps going). I'm using the DivX 5.05 codec because when I install the newer version (5.11 I think) it messes up my ability to play the DivX files at all.

Hope this little bit of info helps those of you who have DivX problems.

Its really a shame they stopped airing that show, really good one and not frequent as said before, I really liked the "two bare breasted girls having a food fight" I´d have even paid to watch another day of that one :)

Here we are, 13 years later, and I'm wondering, Lesbograt, if you by any chance still have the full original video of this and can post it now? You said at the time that you had to cut out 85% of it. I'd love to see the full thing, if possible.
