Why the hell don't people respond to let us know whether they like what we're doing or not?

So far, I have posted 55 different times. (Usually every week). In that time, I have received 65 responses. In that same length of time, 55,403 people have viewed my pictures. That's an average of just over 1000 viewings per posting.... less than 2 people in 1000 are bothering to let us know what you think.

I guess I'm gonna come out on the wrong side of this one. In the last year of his life, I came to this site, and got the photos which helped to cheer my husband up a little, as his cancer spread, and his body weakened.

I used to hate it when some asshole posted 75 identical messages,
"Thx 4 pix"
or something equally lame.

I like looking at the female form, so now that he's gone, I still hang out here a bit. Trolls who post a spate of one-liners should be shot! The simple fact that a thousand people look at your posts oughta tell you enough. You can also see how many people downloaded them; the simple act of downloading them is tantamount to a thank you!

The best authors I know, the ones who get thousands and thousands of reads, may get a few dozen messages from their readers. I don't write as well as those who I consider amongst the best, so my ratio of reads to comments is not as high as the good writers get. I'm happy to get the reads, and I like the messages, but I don't obsess about not hearing from more of the readers of my stories.

I've been hanging around here for about three years or so, I think. I've seen a lot of the photos, but surely not to the extent many of you guys have. I've probably posted a few dozen comments, very few of which have been simple "thanks for posting."

You don't want hundreds of simply "thanks" messages. Please don't ask for what you won't want others get.

The way I look at it, if one doesn't have something to ADD to the thread, either text or more photos, one shouldn't make the thread longer, and force hundreds or thousands of people to download and search threads, looking for the new stuff, only to find out it isn't new stuff, but just a one liner saying what everybody thinks.

Simple thank you messages, which don't add value to the thread, should be SENT PRIVATELY, so the one who deserves the thank you will be the only one burdened by the thank you process.

I apologize for posting what is probably the minority opinion, but I think I needed to voice it.

Nope, I don't think it's the minority opinion.

If every member on the forum posted a reply to every clip or photo, then the forum would probably be in big trouble trying to keep up with moderating the newer posts.
Just imagine making a post tonight, and then 400 members replying to a few posts that were made 2 days ago.
Please don't get me wrong, i am not saying dont reply, i am just trying to point out something that could happen.

I must admit,I love feedback.
Iam a fedback junkie.
If I find some great photos and i post them to an existing thread or
start a thread and someone leaves a comment to say they like the photos
well it makes it all worth while spending hours searching for new material and taking the time to
post it.
Guess I am insecure but I love it when I get praise,in fact Ilove all feedback positive or negative.
But I agree you shouldn't just bump up old threads with feedback for the sake of it but sometimes
it revives a good thread new members may have missed.
Best idea is make a comment add an on topic photo,
but for me two words do'thanks thenfreedom'
right or wrong i love feedback and if thats seen as a failing..............
.........well I never said I was PERFECT....JUST HUMAN.

GREAT THREAD,GOOD TOPIC,GOOD SUBJECT.
THANKS EVERYONE

I agree with every word you say thenfreedom!
I was a lurker here for a full year before posting one lousy pic, but finally I decided to add to the forums and I was really exited when I got nice, humorous and constructive feedback right from the git go. and all of a sudden I get bumped up from junior member to member. I do feel a bit proud actually! And I don't feel guilty of lurking for a long time because I think that's fine too. And every once a while a wisecrack , thank you or slap on the wrist is mucho appreciated! SJ :)

I have to agree with past messages. The number of views speaks for itself. If people did not want to view your post, they would not. This is the place to talk. The other place is to look. You get a lot of people looking.

strange

To be honest,
It seems strange to me that this thread is mainly about replying to posts about attatchments, yet this thread has more replies in the length of time its been running, than most other threads.

sharing ....

.... isn't it all about sharing ?

People who like erotica sometimes are the nicest people.

We are also the shyest. The very nature of looking at erotica on line precludes cheering.

This is just me but .... I find it tasteless those who insult the body. Yes , some are fat . yes some are not your choice.... yes some may be revolting to you personally. ..... the secret is to just let it go .

It never ceases to amaze me when I see a comment like ..."nice boobies ... shame about the tummy " etc.

Since I'm rambling .... I can't think I've ever been more embarrassed on-line then when I came back one day and found my posting had been deleted as "pro".... to the mods ... I was shell shocked .... two ways .... yes it was probably pro at some point ... but I re-edited it to be normal .

all to say I am afraid now to upload anything !!!

with appreciation,

GeorgeSmiley

There are some people in this thread saying they'd like feedback, and others saying that they find two-word replies annoying. I think that both are right: The group that wants feedback want comments specific to their post, and won't get any satisfaction from a reply that could have been about any thread. The group that doesn't want the board clogged up don't mind replies where someone has taken the time to make a substantial comment.

Considering I have very few posts I guess I dont provide much feedback ^^'

The reason why I dont go and say I love everything I do love, is because I would be bumping 90% of the posts in this place! lol I tend to keep as a rule not to reply to anything with a simple "I like it" unless its very near the top of the page. This way I can keep the bumping of stuff to a minium.
