I think maybe part of the reason a lot of people don't say "thanks" is that, well, downloading porn is something we want to keep on the down-low, even to ourselves; interacting with other porn posters/downloaders is just getting too personal. One just wants to go in, accomplish their business, and get out. Just because not every expresses their appreciation doesn't mean that appreciation doesn't exist.

I use the thanks button quite liberally.

Posting a message that says only thank you doesn't really add anything and would fill up the board and make finding those great poss more difficult (especially if you track the new posts like I do). But having that small way to say, I looked at your pics or video seems like a tidy and easy way to handle it.
