I grew up in the 60s when, until the dreaded tights (pantyhose for our US friends) came in towards the end of the decade, all women wore nylon stockings every day and a flash of stocking top and thigh was not an unusual sight. I used to get glimpses from my mother's friends, my aunts and neighbours. In 1966, when I was 15, I got a summer job in an office where there were a number of women of all ages and they all wore stockings. Consequently, it was not unusual to see a flash of stocking top and, as a teenager full of testosterone, I was always having to go to the toilet to relieve myself after each sighting. There was one middle aged women who, although unattractive, was always bending over and revealing her stocking tops and white chubby thighs, with the result that I wanked far more over her than any of the young girls. My first girlfriend also wore stockings but, as she was shy and somewhat prudish, I was never really able to enjoy the experience and, by the time we split up and I started going out with other girls, the dreaded tights were everywhere. The end of an era.
