Thanks for the encouragement. Yes, did put in
some time into these, and it is not going to interest
everyone (it's sort of the opposite end of the spectrum
from hardcore).

Tvbert, to answer your question, I used an old machine
with a card from Pinnacle Systems in it. That eventually
seemed to give out, so bought a new one from them
(a PCTV card) but resolution actually doesn't seem as
good. Then take the .avi and .mpg files and use
Windows Moviemaker to make .wmv clips (which also
loses some resolution from the original, but allow me
to edit out the extra that would just make the clips
too long and large). Hope that helps answer.

I am just beginning to appreciate the work that goes into creating the clips and the editing process. Thank you very much for the video memories of the early days of MTV when it was still watchable.

I know a lot of work goes into these types of videos and it is much appreciated. Well done. :D

Club MTV clips
 

Detail is as follows:
ClubMTVorig1.wmv & ClubMTVorig2.wmv are my first Club MTV recorded
(by accident no less) -- show had what I feel were the best upskirts
ever on American TV. Unfortunately, this is the best quality of all
of them, given the tapes are so old. Will try and send more over the
next few months as I get time to break them out.

This Club MTV clip attached was the one that "captured" my attention
to the show way back in the '80s. The girl pictured definitely
made the show very interesting (not to mention making many of our
boring lives at the time much more thrilling, so as Alex
repeats, these exhibitionistic women are not dumb nor b*tches,
etc., but rather have my vote as one of the best sources of zest
in our life -- as well as in the forum). This was my favorite dancer
on the show, and I heard recently that she married a relatively
famous actor. Certainly wishing her and her new family the best...

Vintage 80's American television voyeurism at it's best. It's too bad that all we had back then was VHS or Betamax to remember it by. Now in the age of digital recording and HD broadcasts, most of what we will pass on will be imported. Our voyeurism has been outsourced. :rolleyes:

I like the E! channel clips. Good to know that I wasn't the only one pervin on those half-naked models strutting their stuff on the runways. To me, fashion shows always seemed like a snotty rich people's poor excuse for a strip-club.

No offense intended to any affluent persons that peruse these forums. hehe

Turns out the "mold" on the videotape wasn't
that destructive after all -- just seemed to lose
some audio. Here's 2 more of my favorite dancers
from Club MTV, including Downtown Julie Brown
(the host) herself in a terrific mini (and seemingly
nothing else?). The other clip of my other
favorite regular dancer I did lighten, but
I noticed quality goes down, so don't know if
people would prefer I just give the regular clip
and they can lighten/slow down/etc. to their liking?

These clips remind me of why I used to watch
MTV, and still sometimes do (although nothing
on now seems to compare)...
