Thank you very much fiend36, very high praise indeed, but that compliment is one I can not accept. The true patriots have made the ultimate sacrifice and earned the honor of being called a hero. They are at Arlington and Jefferson Berrics, where once or twice a year someone places flags on their graves so the public would remember. We should not need a reminder, we can see what they died for in every part of our country.

We did something unusual for ours, we acted as volunteers for the local Sheriff's Department.

So my wife manned the radio while I answered the business phone. A professional answered the emergency phone, but because they were so short handed we were asked to help.

She somehow was able to speak in a professional manner while oozing her sexy voice over the airwaves. The Deputies seemed to appreciate it, and at one time I got a call from Angel 1 ( the medical helicopter that covers our area) asking who this new dispatcher was. I told them she was a slim blonde woman who is wearing a short skirt with long legs. I asked him if he would like to meet her we would be having a breakfast and ceremony in the morning, come on by.

She was on the radio with Car 51 who was in a low speed persuit down a one lane road. A driver had hit several parked cars at a bar and he was following them. You could hear his siren in the background, but the driver would not pull over. They were traveling between 25 and 35, but he could not get in front to cut them off.

That's when the business phone rang. It was a drunk fool, in the background you could hear the sirens.
"I want to file a complaint against one of your Deputies" he began. "He's been following me for a mile now and I know he can't do that. It's against the Constitution of the United States to follow someone that far." cupping the phone I looked over at my wife and whispered "it's him on the phone now" Smiling, she grabbed the phone out of my hand. |
