I recently webt to V to consecutive days during the weekend. I can confirm it's always an amazing experience given the young crowd . You cannot compare to saunas in Belgium, including the castle. If the weather is nice enough to be outside on a lounger then that area will typically be full with everyone laying out fully nude. The walkway to/from the outdoor sauna area is directly in front of the lounging area (which is only two rows deep). As such, the views are up close and personal. I only wish I could walk more slowly!

Most people walk around wearing a robe but there is 10% of the population (of both sexes) that enjoy peacocking - and that percentage does increase two or threefold as alcohol is consumed on Friday and Saturday evenings. But even without alcohol the aufguss sessions will conclude with dozens of overheated nudies spilling out into the Amsterdam air to consume water, shower off and generally stand around undressed in an effort to bring their body temp down. That TE pulls in a young-ish crowd of local, well-toned bike enthusiasts only adds to the charm. IOW, it is not to be missed on any trip that lands you within 100 kilometers of Amsterdam.

Is TE the biggest or most luxurious wellness center? Heck no. But what it lacks in luxury it makes up for in countless other ways.

Pro tip: bring your own robe and flip-flops (thongs) to save money and to help you distinguish yours from the dozen others that were left outside the sauna.

It's huge and at least on the 80 degree sunny day I attended, very few of the hundreds of sunbathers were laying out naked or walking around in the nude. I'd also state that the attractiveness of the clientele is less consistent than at Z in Amsterdam.

Spas in Netherlands
 

Recently went to spa Z in Amsterdam and spa S near Utrecht on back to back days. Both were definitely worth it. Full of very attractive young clientele and very friendly. Spa Z definitely had more international visitors, many from Asia and a few from India that I noticed. In general, all hotels with saunas expect nudity in the sauna.
There may be some people coming in clothed, but you can usually be naked if you want.

In Germany this would make no sense to have the hotel nude. There are Spas with hotel, the TE for example. The Spa has restaurant, bar, pool, loungers and everything where you can be nude. The hotel is just for sleeping, you spend all.day in the Spa. So why should the hotel have any resources when you have everything in the Spa. If you've ever been to a place like TE, you wouldn't spend a minute in any hotel facility. The TE has about 5000 guests a day, 2000 women, 200 you find interesting. That keeps you busy for a day. After that, you will fall into your bed 😁

Out of curiosity, is it a bad thing to wear glasses into a sauna? Heard the heat can cause issues to the glass. And if it's not recommended to bring them in, are there usually lockers or like a cupboard nearby to put your stuff in before heading into the sauna?

Lets differ between the sauna cabin and the spa. Having your glasses along in the spa is no problem, and the places I went had extra little shelves to leave you glasses outside of the sauna cabin.
In the sauna cabin due to the heat, metal frames might burn your skin. Plastic frames can get soft and get deformed. Glass lenses have no problems, plastic lenses can be damaged by more than 60C. Leave them outside.
Disposable contact lenses are the best option for clear vision in the sauna cabin.

Most spectacle lenses are now plastic, I haven't noticed any lens distortion because of sauna heat. Metal frames might get hot, plastic frames might possibly distort. If your eyesight is so poor as to cause safety concerns then you could wear an old pair of 'beater' spectacles. Or ask your optometrist this question.

If you want to wear spectacles "to get a good view" of the women, then don't stare, or turn your head to follow someone around, or come across as gawping or creepy - but you probably knew that anyway!.

There are usually some kind of small shelves intended for glasses just next to doors to many saunas. I don't think the problem is possible damage, but fogging. The glasses are cold, there is higher humidity inside plus you are sweating and sweat from you face evaporates, so the glasses are continuously fogging up. You wipe them off and in a while they fog up again. Time to time you can see people wearing glasses in sauna, but usually after they wipe them off few times, they usually take them off.

I have heard the heat is bigger problem for contact lens, because they try up very quickly.

I have the recommendation not to take plastic lenses inside and to use one day disposable contact lenses from an opticians website. I would follow their advice.
I myself have taken metal framed glasses with real glass along. These are not affected.

I keep my glasses on as I feel very uncomfortable when I'm not wearing them. I've had both plastic and metal glasses, no problem. The metal ones get hot, but if you already have them on when entering this isn't an issue (same as wearing a metal ring is not an issue). There are shelves to put glasses, but never got any comment on keeping them on.
Also fogging is actually not an issue in a sauna, as the air is so dry, there is no water to cause the fogging.

The heat of the sauna will damage anti-reflective coating on your glasses. I've used an old pair (metal frames, plastic lenses) many times without problem, but they are already very damaged. There are usually places to out your glasses outside the sauna somewhere.

For the last time, don't use plastic lenses in the sauna cabin. This is not my advice, it is an opticians advice.
Those who want to tell us it is no problem should please watch jackass videos and stick to their suggestions about how to spend your time.
