I have never been to Cap D'Agde before, but plan to for the first time this coming July. That almost wasn't the case though! Let me explain.

My customer service experience with Genevieve Naturisme was nothing short of atrocious. If you are hoping to stay at one of their hotels (Jardin D'Eden or Jardin de Babylon) then don't expect it to be your usual booking experience.

I filled out the form on their web site twice, waited a few days, wrote an e-mail to their agn@ address, waited a week... Radio silence. So one night I stayed up late enough to phone them in their morning hours. Got someone that spoke reasonable English at least. They looked up my last name, said they had my requests, but that they were very behind. But 2-3 weeks? I doubt it. More like demand is so high that they don't need to respond to e-mails. Read on to see why I believe this is the case.

So the receptionist proceeds to check availability at Jardin D'Eden for my dates. Nothing available, fully booked. But they have rooms left at Babylon. So I asked them to please e-mail me the options available there and I would respond with my credit card info, etc. to make a booking.

Wait 24 hours, no e-mail, nothing in spam folder. So another late night, call them back. Different person, still reasonable English. Explain that I had made e-mail inquiries and telephone calls to them and that I wanted to book at the Babylon over the phone. The receptionist tells me there is only one room available at the Babylon for my dates! They tell me the room number and say to send an e-mail requesting to book that particular room for my dates. Where do I send the e-mail? agn@... How much can I trust this at this point I'm thinking, and we're now at the point where this is the LAST room, but I e-mail as requested.

Thankfully, the next morning, I had an e-mail from them in my inbox confirming my reservation and deposit receipt.

Two lessons here for folks:

1) If you are hoping to stay at Eden or Babylon this summer, it's pretty booked. Call them before committing to flights etc.

2) Don't bother doing anything with Genevieve naturism other than calling them. They don't respond to the requests on their website. They don't respond to e-mails that do not have specifically agreed upon terms that were discussed over the phone.

I am hopeful that my experience at Cap D'Agde and Babylon will make up for the thrashing around I had to do with these folks. I hope my findings and recommendations helps someone else out.

Take care all! Thanks for the great info and photos on this forum!

Timekiller.. you are not wrong. It puzzles me why AGN cannot organise online booking. It would be much easier. This year they have 'sold' rooms for two takeover events by SDC in an effort to generate more sales in early season.. which is not ideal.. one week fine but two takeover weeks back to back is too much imho..

The key to booking with AGN we find is to do it early. Quite understand this is not always possible but in fairness we have always found that an email enquiry through their website illicits a response within a week with a proposal for accommodation.

The accommodation at Cap is not 5* but Babylone and Eden offer a unique environment in which to enjoy your holiday.. Have a great time..

Hey timekiller, for which dates were you trying to book Babylone?

So my experience was a bit different. After looking at AGN's web information I emailed them on availability. I received an email the next day was able to confirm my desire to do the reservation that day and received confirmation the next day. The replies were helpful and happened fairly quickly given the time diference. I called them in the middle of things to confirm and they had all of my details correct. I agree they fill up fast for high season. If I was doing it again I would start the process in January or February. I also agree I hate people booking blocks.

Regards,
Marc

Hey anonpak,

I didn't want to reveal the exact dates because I don't wish to be identified. I did get my booking, as I said though, the last room available in either AGN hotel for my dates. If it helps you, it's in the first half of July and for less than a week.

Best wishes!

This could be the problem they didn't respond a.s.a.p. I can imagine they would prefer people to book for a complete week or more during July/August... during high season it's difficult to book for only a few days, this is also the case for apartments and the camping, as there's enough interest of people booking for longer periods.

The SDC takeover is from 1 to 15 July and will have complicated matters. Initially the SDC takeovers were at either Eden or Babylone but they have booked both properties for this period and that will have made matters more difficult.

Believe me though, your efforts will be worthwhile.. ;)

Thanks. The reason I asked was that I am also trying to book Babylone for less than a week of stay, but haven't heard from AGN. I am trying for August.

Call them as I said. They're almost certainly not going to write you back otherwise. Each day that passes reduces your chances that there is a room available. Get yourself a calling card or something if you don't have international long distance, you'll need less than 10 minutes of time. Explain as I did that you've been trying to write and haven't heard from them and that you'd like to inquire about availability for your dates. If they tell you to e-mail your details, make sure they have given you a room number to specify in your e-mail. Send them an e-mail promptly and include your credit card details for the deposit. That should seal the deal.

Good luck with your plans!
