^This just went up. Not the best quality, but a good album. Has a couple different chicks people were asking about. |
I thought London wasn't bad at all, the ride got a bit strung out so perhaps people thought it was a smaller ride than it actually was.
There were 3 or 4 fully nude Chinese women riders, that was nice. |

Today's ride was bloody hard work. It was sunny and hot most of the time but the light was harsh and absolutely awful at times. Much more laid back crowd than usual at Hyde Park. Lot more banter than usual, far less of the kind of appalling scenes we've witnessed in the past.
Along with a snapping buddy, I headed down Park Lane to grab some snaps of the early part of the ride. Participants were overwhelmingly male, as usual, and many of the familiar faces, such as red wig Sue, were absent. The ride moved much faster than usual over the first mile or two because this year it didn't clash with Trooping the Colour, which meant there was no end to end traffic - which is good from a snapping point of view as it takes the riders a long time to get from one point to another. Made it to Westminster Bridge just ahead of the pack but it was very disappointing this time. It quickly became obvious that in the absence of the usual Forum Magnum Square stop, they'd be moving off as soon as most people from the feeder rides were gathered - so we had to hot foot it over to Waterloo Bridge and even then only just made it - lots and lots of snappers were caught out. Underwhelming is the word I'd use to describe the day. There were a few fun riders who stood out but after what I thought was an excellent 2016 ride, this one was definitely a bit of a let down. Saying that, we had a bit of luck at the bottom of The Mall, where the riders had to stop for a while and instead of just riding down Constitution Hill, instead filtered to the footpath under the trees and had a bit of a mini party along there (in deep shadow under the trees). Not expecting much from my own pictures. Hoping others had a good day. Also shot some footage on my GoPro this time round - which if it's anything like my previous efforts at shooting video won't be up to much :p |
