Portland ride count
 

I found this little article useful and also a tad amusing regarding Portlands ride last night. Anyone a bit skeptical of the ride count of 13,000 riders? Read on:

They say this sort of thing is useful for planning purposes. But for me, its mainly useful for BRAGGING RIGHTS!!

I got to thinking about the pic aspect, and couldn't help realizing that individual photos could never do this ride justice. Sure, they'd be great to have, but this ride is about quantity, and a single pic could never capture it all. When shooting with a flash, you are always only going to be able to illuminate a small area, and so you can never capture a sea of people in great light. So anyway, there should be some good movies coming out, and so sit back while watching and imagine you're the King of Swaziland and those 10,000 babes have come to call...:)

Well, I heard there were only about a 100 people who turned out for the Madison Naked Bike Ride. There will be link to photos from the ride posted soon according to their yahoo group.

As I know, there were about 18 000 people at Tunick's shot in Mexico City.

OK, so it was the SECOND LARGEST ASSEMBLAGE OF NAKED PEOPLE EVER!!!

Why doesn't Spencer Tunick ever come to Portland? I bet he could draw 25,000 for a shoot here. I think I will give him a phone call.....

Portland's night ride was held a bit earlier in the evening this year, and so for the first time, there are a few semi-daylight pics out. I've already posted one or two. Then there is this one below. Not sexy, but I guess what I'm trying to do is find pics with enough lighting so you can see how immense the ride was. Probably won't be successful.

Behind the fence in the background is the assembly area that filled up with 10,000 people..

come to think of it, I think this is a sexy pic. Just thinking about this ride is all it takes...
