And as someone who owns a copy of that very issue of Sensational She-Hulk, I'm saying she was never actually nude. The editing doesn't show hidden nudity. It adds nudity that was never there. It was a joke, in that She-Hulk was wearing a bikini, and the blur lines were hiding it, making her appear nude. She actually wasn't.
I know, they're just drawings. But this period in the history of the She-Hulk character is one I have always enjoyed, especially for jokes like this one. It does a disservice to the original writer/artist to make it look like he wrote and drew something he didn't, even for something like this thread. Not to mention the manipulation of the art in this way deceives readers of this thread into thinking the original writer/artist was trying to get away with something he actually wasn't. He was following up on an earlier joke from an earlier issue, and playing on readers' expectations. He wasn't about to depict She-Hulk in the nude. He just wanted to make a joke about how she had promised, breaking the fourth wall to do it, to jump rope in the nude if the readers went along with a storyline, and how he would have never been able to get away with showing her doing that, so he made it look like it until the punchline panel, showing her with a bikini on. Wearing a bikini = no nudity, even if hidden to make it appear so. I'll take the original writer/ artist's word for it over this manipulation any day.
