I think that's what he meant

He's not saying the pictures showed nudity, and were edited. The original pictures had hidden nudity. They've been edited to show full nudity.

Don't know if these have been posted yet. They're Saturday morning cartoonish, but still worth a look.

HOWARD THE DUCK

Gotta say, love this thread, love how active it is. A lot of new stuff I'd never seen before! Here's some pics of Howard the Duck's lady. You might remember the pair from a really weird George Lucas movie. Good stuff. There's also a character spoofing Witchblade, who has a magic braclet that makes her breasts grow huge.
Very weird stuff.

And as someone who owns a copy of that very issue of Sensational She-Hulk, I'm saying she was never actually nude. The editing doesn't show hidden nudity. It adds nudity that was never there. It was a joke, in that She-Hulk was wearing a bikini, and the blur lines were hiding it, making her appear nude. She actually wasn't.

I know, they're just drawings. But this period in the history of the She-Hulk character is one I have always enjoyed, especially for jokes like this one. It does a disservice to the original writer/artist to make it look like he wrote and drew something he didn't, even for something like this thread. Not to mention the manipulation of the art in this way deceives readers of this thread into thinking the original writer/artist was trying to get away with something he actually wasn't. He was following up on an earlier joke from an earlier issue, and playing on readers' expectations. He wasn't about to depict She-Hulk in the nude. He just wanted to make a joke about how she had promised, breaking the fourth wall to do it, to jump rope in the nude if the readers went along with a storyline, and how he would have never been able to get away with showing her doing that, so he made it look like it until the punchline panel, showing her with a bikini on. Wearing a bikini = no nudity, even if hidden to make it appear so. I'll take the original writer/ artist's word for it over this manipulation any day.

Did "The pictures with actual nudity have been edited" really need to be further clarified?

Seriously, if you write this much of an essay to defend the artistic integrity of a joke in a non-cannonical part of a comedic version of one of the most laughable characters in one of our lowest art forms from the maybe-kinda-sorta-tacit suggestion that a manipulated picture could possibly have represented the actual fictitious meta-truth, then I'd like to see the kind of crusade you go on when something that actually matters comes up.

Repeat: uanime5 never meant to imply that She-Hulk was naked in the original artwork. Your comment that "Except if you read the comic in question, you find out she was never actually nude" was totally unnecessary because it was so obvious the art had been doctored. We all figured it out without your explanation.

Just to get (sort of) back on subject, here's a piece of subscription add art from the 80's. I found it in the back of an early Marvel comics Star Wars issue. Which I am certain was the first time I recall seeing a naked lady in a comic book.
