So I get over there to help him and he is piling things in a keep and go stack. In the go stack I see cases of Meals Ready to Eat, Sterno for cooking, and other survival supplies.

When I asked him about it, he told me that since the world did not end as his son expected, he did not need it and was going to throw it out. There were cases and cases of the stuff, all good for the next 3 years.

Well, rather than throwing it out, I suggested we take a run to a Military surplus and gun shop that was a few towns away. Maybe he could get a few bucks for it. He agreed and off we went.

When we got there, they weren't buying. They had so much come back already they didn't need more. By this time it was noon and I was hungry, so we drove a little way down to a Bar I know which has a good lunch.

I knew the owner, and we got to talking. I told him of our adventure and he smiled. He said he would be interested in the supplies since he has hunters come threw for the breakfast menu which he starts at 4am during hunting season. He thought maybe we could trade a few items, so I let him look at the inventory.

So we head back with 8 cases of beer, one nice bottle of scotch, a Winchester rifle from 1890 and one very happy neighbor.

So we mount the gun over his fireplace with great satisfaction and I head home, happy I could something nice for him.

I noticed the wife's car was in the garage already, so I went inside to see why she was home early.

She was upstairs. She told me every thing was fine, but I was to sit on the couch and wait for her. She has a new outfit she bought and wanted to see what I thought of it, but no peeking. The couch faces away from the stairs, so I sat and waited.

She came down and I heard her approach from behind me. The click of heals against hardwood heralded her approach. A silk sash rolled down my chest where a black long gloved hand reached down from the other side and brought it up to my face and over my eyes.
