I went to a bigger thermal bath today with a sauna complex. I went with my wife, she is not interested in sauna so I went a few tines alone for a few aufguss sessions.

Nothing special.

2 session

As I entered the front door of the sauna, the receptionist just pointed to the entrance of the sauna and didn’t provide and explanation even though I mentioned to her it’s my first time there.

When I entered the changing room, I spoke to one cute lady (around early 20s) and asked her how to operate the lockers using the magnetic wristband. However, she was already dressed up. About Berlin:

The Vabali has the rule to only walk around covered. That is a fun spoiler. And it's expensive.

The Kristalltherme is a bit outside Berlin, much bigger and costs less. You can reach it by public transport in less than an hour, check connections on bvg.de, station name is Kristallbad.
Walking around nude is common, so there is lots to see. Go afternoon to evening.
I love the bar where you sit in warm water :)
If you like some CFNM, Wednesday is clothing optional.

Both seem comparable, Kristall being somewhat bigger. I found no guest numbers. The Kristall has 900 rest loungers which are often all taken.
If you can then visit both, else I reccomend Kristall.

Here in the Czech Republic it is common for public swimming pools to have open lockers with a few cubicles to the side walls. Most people change in the open areas in front of their lockers. People are polite and keep their eyes forward but often you have men, women and children changing in front of each other. Just not a big deal here as is being naked at lakes during the summer. Oh and saunas are naked and often have unisex days each week.

I am going to Prague in February with my girlfriend, and I'd like to ask if anyone here can provide some information about Aquapalace in Prague? I have read that it has a sauna world, but many reviews on other websites say that the place is not that good. Erding is near the airport, so if you are flying in then stopping at Erding on your way to Munich would be justified. Especially if you are flying in on a red-eye as you can nap at the spa. Technically Erding isn't "on the way" to Munich but 1) it's just a 15 minute taxi from the airport 2) you'll be no further away than you were when at the Airport and 3) in my experience women can't read maps.

Swedish saunas are generally nude and gender segregated. Sometimes there will be one sauna in the complex that is mixed, and that will also be nude. It's also quite common for them to have one day a week or one per month which is totally mixed, and still nude.

I think the Germans have decided since 2017 that a robe or towel is mandatory.
They probably wanted to make a difference between a "nudist center" and a sauna.

In practice V is similar to almost all other spas in Germany. If you are at the center of V, where there is an indoor pool, a few major saunas which are used for aufguss, and a big (and of course coed) shower area, then most of the people you will see will be naked. They will shower, sit with their feet in foot baths, enter saunas, enter the main pool, swim in the pool, and make their way from lounges or other places where they have left their robes and towels to said showers, foot baths, saunas and pool. Likewise, if you e.g. are at any of the outdoor pools (don't use the main one except in summer, use the warm shallow ones instead), people will be naked on their way from those pools to the nearby showers and lounges. But when they walk a bit longer, they'll don their robes. However, rules or no rules, people will usually don their robes when walking a bit longer also in other saunas, one reason being that it's the easiest way to bring it along. So, don't assume V to be different in practice. And besides, V has so many visitors that I don't think you'll be disapointed.

The Germans have made no such decision.
The Vabali wants to be "international style". German places like the Kristalltherme clearly say they are Textilfrei (no clothing), with exception of when sitting in the restaurants.

In my experience the public saunas in Munich are worth a visit. Like everything the time of day can change who and what you see. TE requires plenty of time to do it justice although it's worth it.

Hello

It takes about an hour with train from Munich Hbf to Tegernsee, and then there is a nice walk down to the sauna at the lake (and if your not in good condition consider a cab on the way back). The train is BOB as in Bayerische OberlandBahn, and its a very nice ride south up into the alps. Tegernsee Lake is almost ridiculusly beautiful, and the very nice Sauna complex has the best possible view of 'the lake with the Alps in the background'.

If you have time enough that you regard 3h in total of traveling to and from Munich Hbf as possible, Monte Mare is as far as I am concerned way above any other Sauna in 'Munich with surrundings'. But if you don't have the time you don't of course.

Visits the saunas of Austria today.
After a hard day at work, I decided to visit the saunas in the capital of Austria.
