Well connoisseurs of wrestling, the powers-that- be had a great opportunity for a moon in a ladies match. But once again we will be disappointed. We will get no pantsing, no moon tonight.

Thank you all for the really great posts in the past and that have just come up. Great work! The first time I ever saw a moon in a wrestling match was a cage match (Roddy Piper vs Paul Orndorff.) It is the most logical time for the spot—the heel tries to escape the cage and the face grabs his tights and pulls them down to keep him in the cage.

There was a perfect opportunity for this to happen during the TNA Lockdown 2016 “First ever Knockouts Lethal Lockdown.” For the record, there have been other opportunities in Knockout cage matches in TNA that were ALSO squandered. Here are the results from Lockdown 2016:

“The Dollhouse (Jade, Marti Belle and Rebel) vs. Gail Kim (who got one of the bigger pops of the night), Velvet Sky and a mystery partner - it looked like Maria, but they never announced who it was, so not actually sure. She was a redhead. Whoever it was came out last, teased getting in the ring and then locked the door, leaving the faces outnumbered. Dollhouse won. Not a bad match, they had a bunch of weapons in the cage that were used liberally.”

So once again we are disappointed. Once again, TNA dropped the ball on a moon in a women’s cage match again. “Maybe they don’t do that spot” you may say to yourself. Wrong wrong wrong! Here is the spoiler for the very next match that took place:

“Eli Drake vs. Odarg the Great in a cage match. Comedy match that was a lot of fun. Grado did a bunch of funny spots, like failing to climb over the cage. Drake did the old Flair bare-ass spot, which got some laughs. Mahabali Shera came out to stop Jesse Godderz interfering. Grado escaped the cage after Drake grabbed his 'Odarg' mask and it came off as he fell to the floor.”

So in other words, the full moon spot is OK for a guy, but not for a woman, once again, in wrestling. What is wrong with the bookers? The vast majority of the TNA (and wrestling) audience is males that do not want to see a guy’s butt, but would love to see a Knockout or Diva pantsed. Hrumph.

PS I am waiting for Charlotte Flair to do the Ric Flair spot. Since WWE is PG and this almost never happens, I will probably wait indefinitely.


PPS: I always felt that Taryn Terrell, one of me all time favorite women’s wrestlers, would have been agreeable to a moon in a match. She is gorgeous, she was in Playboy, she was nude on TV in Treme, she became a risk taker in wrestling, she was a main event star, she really played up her sexiness, and she really improved her wrestling skills over the past few years. Sadly I doubt this will ever happen as she became born again in November 2105 :(

My personal grails are to find:

- the video of Angel Willams (Angelina Love) vs Kelly Couture. It took plase at B.S.E. Adrenaline Cup 2007. In the pics a few cameramen are visible so it must be some video somewhere.

- some footage of the full moon of the wonderful Lacey from the Hulkamania tour show in Perth. In the only video (from the crowd) available, that is from a not good angle, the cameraman of the event is visible right behind her and Jimmy Hart so it surely got the spot.
Too bad the company that promoted the show closed before any dvd could be released :(

-there was a TNA house show in Winston (NC) in which Sarita grabbed Velvet Sky's tights exposing her bare ass, in a tag team match . Still searching for it.

Gail Kim's been pantsed while hanging on the side of a cage before in TNA, so it's not like they have some aversion to such spots. I do wonder if the fact their company has been in dire staits means knockouts are less keen on showing skin, given they're probably not making the kind of money they were back when they did those kinds of spots.

There was a match in 2006 between Rachel Putski and Vanessa Kraven. IWA Mid-South Queen of the Death Match.
