I´m pretty sure (99%) Balaton, south side about the middle, where the lake is narrow. Tesco, a Uk company also has more stores in Hungary than in the UK!

this is from a thread that Alfonso started way back in 2005. This looks (though Alfonso could confirm ) to be near Siofok at the east end of the lake. The promenade backed by grass (sometimes with a hedge) is very common on public and hotel beaches.

I really appreciate this type of in depth help. Hungary is pretty much a black box to me. The link is great, too. This reminds me I have seen a few galleries which I can't post here from Lake Balaton (Piroska Camping). They are over at Coccozella's.

These pics, um, take my breath away.....

Actually, they are sort of divided into two sets, the close ups and the more distant shots. The location? - Czech Republic and a quarry location near Prague called "Opatak" I hope I have my info right here, and that this is not in Slovakia instead or something. But anyway, its one of those numerous grassy locations in interior Europe that can get pretty packed, and as you can see, packed by very pretty Prague girls..

If I could, I would present each location I know this way - with maps or aerials, then distant shots, then close ups to show what makes it all worthwhile....

Opatak I think is east of Prague (20-40miles?)

EDIT: some of my pics in post #10 may be from here also.

yeah, it turns out 4 of the pics I put up in post #10 (at least) are from Opatak. This is a small beach, and you will notice below in these two pics from that post a yellow stake or pole in the background. Thats a clue...

EDIT: this place ROCKS.....:)

Osreb posted a pic today that I think is from a quarry in the Czech Republic called Lhota. His pic is number one below, while number two is one I already had in my file from there. It looks like a match. This quarry can get really crowded. Thanks, Osreb -

Indeed it is near Cracow, the west end of the city near the town Kryspinów (the lake is sometimes referred to as "Kryspinów").

OK, these pics are more like from European parks than from river beaches per se. The recipe here is grass along a small lake or pond generally. if any of these locations look familiar to you, please speak up! Could be they're in your neighborhood or town.

Siberia might sound like the coldest place on earth for some of us but surprisingly it is not and actually summer can be hot there! Temperatures like northern Europe in July and August (25+ degrees Celsius) and water around 20C.
Those are some shots of the Ob river near the city of Novosibirsk and local girls looks pretty attractive as well!
