these are very beautiful pictures. I find them nice to look at, but the exocitification of the women does not, for me, add any special excitement. Obviously they are being photographed as part of a public event, and one would hope that they are getting compensated for allowing the ceremony to be photographed and watched by tourists. / But it is completely ridiculous and demeaning to think that this is some kind of elaborate strip show being put on for the sake of American and European voyeurs. That they even involve little kids to make it seem more "real"? Time to break out of the voyeur bubble: There is more meaning to life than unexpected nakedness! These photographs are obviously of real traditional ceremonies, and it is very well studied and documented that they involved nudity. Note that there are plenty of nude men as well. And the "shaved" pussies? The men also don't have pubic hair! Not every people has the same abundance of body hair, and there are also traditional methods of hair removal practiced in all kinds of places. Thanks for the post.

He also mentioned BTW that the girls have tan lines which suggests that they do not dress like this every day,and that the dances are advertized to tourists. Also, posted here is possibly a mix, I believe, of real ceremonies and those singled out by gringuito (who didn't say which pics he was refering to) as taking place in Peru. I don't know which is which, and I don't see a lot of differences among the pics other than the presence of tourists and more western paraphenalia in some. Klondike |
one correction to the above - the Xingus are from the lower, not upper amazon basin of Brazil.
Also, my comment about the kiddies was made half in jest. Thats because at the time I wrote it I was also somewhat skeptical of what qrinquito said. If you reread it, the context in which that sentence was written should become more clear. Klondike |

Excellent pictures. Thanks! A couple of people mentioned the lack of pubic hair. The Amazon Indians pluck the hair from their eyebrows as well as from their pubic region to keep the parasites from nesting there. This I read in a National Geographic article some years back. Yes, I said "pluck".

This is an excellent thread. I can offer these photos of Dani people in the town of Wamena deep in the mountains of Irian Jaya (West New Guinea). Tribal women often go topless and wear only a grass skirt. Men often wear only a penis sheath, a hollow gourd called a kodaka.

The first 2 photos are from Brazilian postcards, cropped to remove images of minors. The third is of Indian women in Venezuela.

Nice pics! The high def travel channel episode was quite the treat as well.
Back to the why do they do it now. To add further mystery and intrigue to the question, did anyone else notice in 3 of the pics, a man dressed in tribal style was filming the parade with a modern movie camera? |

One of the best upskirt photos I have seen was in the 1961 National Geographic article about the Darien Gap in Panama. The photo showed an adult Indian woman squatting, no panties, and no pubic hair. Unfortunately, she was holding her infant daughter in such a way that a full view of the woman's vulva was blocked. I tried to censor this photo, but there was no way I could remove or blur the daughter without ruining the photo. |

Does anybody here speak both Portuguese and English?
I set the following public message to OCC member tavinho, and he replied that he was not sure what I was asking, since English is not his language. Can anybody translate the message into Portuguese?
"HI Tavinho, I see that you are in Brazil, so I wanted to direct your attention to this thread: https://forum.oneclickchicks.com/showthread.php?t=74803 I have visited an area in Venezuela where the Indian women went completely naked. It was many years ago and I have lost my photos. This trip had no luxuries, so was not advertised in any tourist literature. I just happened to find a local guide while I was in Venezuela on business. I thought that since you are in Brazil, you may know of guides or travel companies that can take people to places where the Indian women go naked. Now that I am married and have children I have too little time or money to go myself. There may be other members of OCC who could make the trip, however. If you can get information about this, please post it to the South American Indians thread. Perhaps somebody will visit Brazil and post his photos to our forum. Thanks! toenail" I was just lucky when I visited an Indian region in Venezuela the first time. I just happened to find a guide in Puerto Ayacucho who could take me there, and who had friends in the Venezuelan National Guard who could arrange for us to legally visit an area normally closed to tourists. The second time I contacted the guide a year in advance to get permits and arrange the trip. This particular guide is no longer in business, but there are lots of guides in Puerto Ayacucho who can take people on trips like this. Unfortunately, they do not advertise in tourist literature, so the only way to find them is to go to Puerto Ayacucho in person. If you can get there, ask about visiting the Yanomami or Hoti (aka Joti). Be aware that in the accessable Yanomami camps, the women wear little skirts. To find completely naked women, be prepared to hike into the jungle for at least a day. |
