That would be the initial vinyl pressings of their 1978 album "Jazz", in case anyone is interested...

BTW, the model for "Whipped Cream . . " was visibly pregnant at the time; so they used a lot of shaving cream for the cover shoot.

I saw that one several years ago. The story I read about it is that the people doing the photo shoot went out on the street and asked women passing by if they would be willing to pose nude for an album cover. Obviously, they found some willing to do it.

As for album covers, I am surprised that nobody has demanded that Nirvana's "Nevermind" album cover be banned. If you recall, it has a photo of a nude baby boy, his genitals visible. His name is Spencer Elden and he gained enough notoriety from his baby picture that he, now an adult, makes personal appearances and gets paid for it.

In terms of courting controversy - The Scorpions Virgin Killer LP cover is probably more alarming today than it was back in the 70's - hence no pic posted here by me. I bet Gary Glitter had a copy though...

:D Yeah, he files it between his copies of Blind Faith's debut LP and Led Zeppelin's "Houses of the Holy"...

I'm sure all of us of a certain age remember the 1970 Blind Faith album cover with the too young to post here girl holding something looking more or less like a 1955 Chevy hood ornament. You can see it via Google Images, but I didn't post it here as I know she was not yet 18 when that picture was taken. An alternative cover version was sold by many stores showing the band members rather than the topless young girl.

Which reminds me of a couple of other PJ Harvey LPs from my collection. Thinking about it it must be 10+ years since I've played "4 Track Demos", 5+ years since "Dry". Time for another cull I guess...

Marvelous LP, even ignoring the cover (a gatefold on the vinyl edition by the way) a personal fave.

On a completely different note here are some nudie/cheesecake covers (mostly) from budget UK LPs of the mid 60's to mid 70's. I so need to find a copy of that "Sounds Like the Everly Brothers" LP...
